You've made your position well know on the issue. I understand.
But you still don't understand the dynamics and moving parts.
BB, there is NO "Golden Goose" that's jeopardized if everyone keeps their mouth shut (see NDA's, threats, coercion, blackmail, gubmint / org crime "rules," protocols, etc)

He already believes in the existence of a nefarious near-omnipotent authority that can perpetrate pseudo-evidence for manipulating beliefs in pseudo-concepts like a spherical earth. When you believe in this kind of a "THEM" among your priors, almost any putative conspiracy is justified to believe.

Why are we getting caught up in a far-fetched conspiracy about him actually being dead when there is the low-hanging fruit of the conspiracy that he’s alive but not yet fit enough to be at the game so the NFL trotted out an impostor for a PR stunt?

I'm going to agree. In the absence of evidence of the conspiracy (the absence of which can't be dispositive for ruling out these theories which involve agents trying to conceal evidence), it seems like a good heuristic to choose more-plausible theories that posit more mundane motives and feature the absence of fewer defectors to explain, sort of an "Ockham's razor" sort of thing.

Doc....you know that medical degree that you spent YEARS working on? The YEARS you've spent on clinical practices and other highly focused studies? Great! It was necessary. (But it re-wired your mind.)
I admire the focus of attorneys and doctors and dedication to your craft. I know many of you well.
However...The downside -- it has distracted and taken you away from...observing and measuring actual life outside your area of expertise.
While you respectively were more than a bit...occupied (again, by necessity)...some of us have spent our time as Renaissance Men...Observing. Researching. Investigating. Validating. Confirming. There's no official academic degree for accruing knowledge over a lifetime.
"Respecting Authority" you entire lives is how you guys roll. I get it. I respect it...to a degree. UNTIL you can't or won't venture outside the system programming and paradigm... and free your mind.
