Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren each started the month scraping perilously close to the bottom of their campaign bank accounts, posing an existential threat to their candidacies as the Democratic primary goes national.

They’re up against well-funded machines threatening to dominate the Democratic race: Bernie Sanders, whose recent rise in the polls has come during a major spending streak fueled by his online donors, and billionaire Mike Bloomberg, whose fortune has vaulted him into the middle of the campaign to take on President Donald Trump.

quote:

While Sanders started February with nearly $17 million in the bank, according to campaign finance disclosures filed Thursday night, his next closest rival (nonbillionaire class) was Biden, at $7.1 million. Warren was closest to the red, with just $2.3 million left in her account, while Buttigieg ($6.6 million) and Klobuchar ($2.9 million) were in between.

Makes sense. This has been probably the leanest group of Democrat candidates in recent memory.

Biden should've peeled off a few more bucks from the pallets of cash he and Barry sent Iran.

I am quickly tiring of the word existential.

They're Democrats

Wasting other people's money and accomplishing nothing is what they do

There’s plenty of money to support the Dems, it’s just staying on the sideline though because there’s no viable path to securing the nomination at this point for any of them. All they can hope for is a brokered convention, and Bloomberg is doing much of the heavy lifting to make that happen.

The smartest thing for the establishment Democrats to do is pick the candidate they want and starve the others.

Sanders is leading but will not get more than 30% of the vote.

A single non-socialist candidate will beat Sanders.

They probably would have done this already except Pete is gay, and Biden has dementia so they are having a hard time finding someone they want to back.

Not to worry, obviously Sanders will come in a distribute some of his money to all those that have none.

Isn't it amazing what happens when foreign aid isn't funneled back to Dems for their campaigns?

They’re not sucking off the right people.

The money spigots went off for the Dems in 2012 until Obama et all did an about face on gay issues, at which point all the gay donors started loosening the purse strings.

None of their candidates will carry the majority of the democratic voters come November.

Bernie supporters are not voting for anyone else.
Does Bloomberg actually have any supporters?
Biden won't be there.
Mayor Pete has no chance.
Pocahontas maybe.
