But it's better than not working, isn't it? Of course, SheGuevera wants to take care of those people as well. And certainly better than working at Mickey D's.

Funny that you say that...but here is a quote from the deputy mayor when Exxon left NYC:

''This is an individual relocation,'' he said. ''It's part of an industry which I think is generally perceived as a southwest, Texas-based industry. It's part of an industry that's half the size it was 10 years ago. Its outlook is not necessarily bright and it's not perceived as a tremendous growth industry right now.''

Have no clue why any non financial company would have an office there.

Are there not several Indian reservations in New York? She was speaking as a member of all of them.

They also are losing their only defense contractor which started in NYC. L3 Technologies is merging with Harris and the combined company will move its HQ to Harris' headquarters in Florida.

Regarding great vs. it great jobs.

One would figure somebody doesn’t take a job that worsens their situation. So, if those jobs better a situation they’re pretty great to the individual.

Now nobody in that area has a chance at any of the jobs.

Its a marginal calculation. She should know this.

I don't believe for 1 second she got a degree in economics. I want to see proof. And if she did, then the college who gave it to her, should lose it accreditation TODAY.

She's dumb enough to think she now has 3B (500m in one time cash and 2.5B in tax incentives if amazon hired 25k) to spend someplace else.

If you watch CNBC, the leftist on the show from NYC is even pissed.

She has no grasp of what local govt was doing. The 3 billion in tax breaks was not “giving amazon 3 billion” that she would want to invest in her district for teachers etc. sure that sounds nice, getting more teachers, but there is no 3 billion payment. Those are tax breaks. Breaks that would have generated 25k jobs and more available money to be spent locally.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I dont doubt for one second she got her degree. Outside of the true sciences (cant race card your way out of higher level diff eq calcs) you can bullshite all the way to your phd. College degrees these days aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

You can either tax billionaires to death or prevent them from making billions.

You can't advocate for both at the same time.

One of the arguments AOC is using against the Amazon HQ was that the economic boom brought by the company would raise rents and prices in the area. God forbid you try to improve the place. As long as it remains a shithole with cheap rent that's ok.
