Seriously that is just sick.

quote:

“Charles Krauthammer, a Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post columnist and intellectual provocateur who championed the muscular foreign policy of neoconservatism that helped lay the ideological groundwork for the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, died June 21 at 68,” the obituary began.

This is what McCain sold his soul for to avoid. He wants to be remembered fondly by the liberal media that hated him and called his 'country first' slogan a racist dog-whistle.

It’s a very bizarre opening paragraph

That's just straight chicken shite. You never dig at the departed. Even when noname dies, I won't bash him. I'll just say "rest in peace, and I hope you got yourself right with God before the end".

McCain is going to get plenty of negative articles.

You drama queens.

There isn’t a single attack in that opening paragraph. Krauthammer was a Washington Post guy. He could have written that for all we know.

Krauthammer received acclaim for his writing on foreign policy, among other matters. He was a leading neoconservative voice and proponent of US military and political engagement on the global stage, coining the term "Reagan Doctrine" and advocating for the Gulf War, Iraq War, and enhanced interrogation techniques of suspected Islamic terrorists.[10][11][12]

How is that an attack if it is true?

Why? If you were a warmonger when you were alive, why should I pretend you were different just because you're now dead? His death doesn't change what he was. Stalin is dead. Should we pretend he was a saint? What about pedophiles? Does their death somehow absolve them of their atrocities?

Not an “attack.” Simple factual statement. And I liked CK a great deal.

He would not have hidden from his own politics. Hell, he probably contributed to his own obit prior to his death.

I disagreed with Charles Krauthammer on just about every foreign policy and national security position, but are we at a point now where one's political views define a person?

I mean Krauthammer was witty, a sports enthusiast and by all accounts a good husband and father who overcame a personal tragedy and continued to soldier on until the end. We are all more than our political views.

This is what I don't understand about McCain. He courted the media all of his political life expecting them to be nice when he ran for President. Then when he ran they treated him like shite. Just like every other republican candidate.

Did he learn anything from this experience? Nope.
