I have never, NEVER, heard of someone getting that much from the VA. The most I believe can be collected is $4400 and thats 100%, married with the max amount of dependants.

Married with one dependent is 4300 a change. This dude must have 15 kids, lol.

Do y’all have to prove y’all aren’t drinking and that type of stuff to receive the payments?

No, I just walk in and they have the checks ready to go. I don’t even have to show ID.

And there’s nothing you can do about it

I know there isn’t.

There’s nothing I can do about any other fraud, either.

I sometimes wonder how the country got to this point and then I interact with people like you.

Idk what that means.

I would hope people on SNAP and shite like that have to pass drug tests and prove they’re actually looking for work, etc.

Drinking seems like the last thing a veteran needs to be doing. ESPECIALLY if they’re receiving these payments due to mental issues.

Why on earth would someone be allowed to drink while they’re being given taxpayer dollars for mental illness?

A water walker? It means that you’re perfect and can walk on water. You’re sitting here tripping out and asking if veterans who served their country can drink

Your mind would probably be blown then that a history of drinking and drug abuse is probably tied to mental health claims. We should probably stop discussing this though because you’ll have a melt down as you don’t live in the real world and know anything about the military or service members.

You literally just asked if they can drink while getting disability compensation.

Your words

I don’t know your age, but I’d wager most in this thread that are adamant about rampant fraud and abuse are boomers.

Which is ironic, given it was the Vietnam veterans and their boomer congressmen that massively expanded VA programs.

Actually, it makes perfect sense they’re now mad about it. They’re not the only generation benefiting anymore

It was hand in hand with some earlier discussion about people on SNAP when they clearly are capable of holding down a job.

I didn’t do a good job of explaining or setting up my question, which I will give you. I don’t waste the time because y’all don’t consider it at all before responding with truly unhinged replies.

Do you think a veteran on 100% disability due to mental issues should be allowed to drink?

Def not a boomer. It’s funny their bias is from someone they know and they lash out online against people they don’t know when we are literally trying to explain it per the law.

Many people with mental illnesses drink, it's usually the reason they do drink.

But no, you don't have to prove you don't drink because that's impossible to do. Illegal drugs is different, but only if you get arrested and the sentence is 30+ days. Same applies to a DUI that gets you 30+ days. I don't know if they take the benefits away, but they do suspend them.

The original post almost assuredly means if you’re he has SMC. Special monthly compensation. I had a veteran drawing 14000 a month but he had almost full paralysis. I also know several influencers on YouTube and tik tok that are 100 P&t and making 70k a month off that. The ratings the VA gives are considered compensation so they don’t count as income and you can’t be taxed on it. I’d bet the original veteran with the 6800 a month is drawing housebound status with aid an attendance to get em to that number. Also fun fact for all the turds. The two most given out ratings through the Va is tinnitus and erectile dysfunction

As a conservative who values freedom why should I give one frick what someone does in their own home or what their income is? Especially someone who signed a blank check in the name of their country. Do you know what the UCMJ is and how many rights service members lose while on active duty? Again you guys have no clue of the life these people live.

A mental health rating under VA almost always allows the veteran to qualify for medical marijuana. So they don’t have to drink.

You keep saying this evt thing when there’s no such thing. It’s literally a direct deposit into their accounts.

That’s truly unbelievable.

I would like to see less fraud and more benefits for vets who need it. I cannot reconcile with vets being allowed to drink while receiving life changing money due to mental disorders.
