This is silly -
There is a huge difference between personal principles and public policy. We are in a life-long WAR with the socialist/secular/nihilistic DEMOCRAT party and they have overrun our defenses for over 50 years.
Now is not the time for a doomed to failure 'banzai' attack on their fortified defense based on the fact that 'we know our principles are pure."
IF we go balls to the wall on this NOW - we are sure to lose the Senate in 2020 and quite possibly the Presidency - then our cause will be doomed forever.
This bill is DESIGNED to provoke a SCOTUS decision on reversing Roe-v-Wade. It is NOT a bill crafted in good faith. We have lived with this RvW abortion of a decision for half a century and are on the verge of establishing a solid foundation in the SCOTUS for its reversal.
If we throw away opportunity NOW for the joy of pounding our heads against an impenetrable wall, our cause is lost forever.
THIS IS NOT THE TIME for an all-out assault on Roe v Wade - we are WINNING the war with intelligent tactics - it will take a little more time.

The Alabama abortion bill is a monster because it does not have exceptions for rape and incest. That is absolutely fricked up and not something pro-lifers should support.
Forcing a victimized woman to carry a rape or inbred baby to term is inhumane and is righteously illegal.
If you believe in doing something like that, you have no heart whatsoever and I'm not sure if you're someone I can support.
I have no problem with conservatives losing this battle when SCOTUS tells them to get fricked.

Rape and incest are nearly statistically insignificant when it comes to abortion reasons. If that’s what’s holding you up, then you don’t really care about the lives of the unborn anyway.

Then what's the problem including them in the bill?
Banning rape and incest abortions is the position of an extremist that has no empathetic heart and there is no debate to be had about that.

I could say the same about you not caring about a victimized and brutalized woman if you put something that doesn't even have a heartbeat yet above her.

Because forcing a woman who is raped to carry her child to term is so very christian.
Christian means Christ-like, Jesus disapproves of killing babies.

AMEN
My only worry is that this abortion of a bill willl be the catalyst to sweep in a DEMOCRAT Senate - doom any chance of retaking the HOUSE - and put the PRESIDENCY in mortal danger.
THIS STUPID TANTRUM is going to usher in ABSOLUTE CONTROL of the the DEMOCRAT party - forever.
GODDAMN the assholes who tossed this temper tantrum and shite in the punch bowl when we were on the VERGE of consulting our gains and establishing an unassailable foothold for continued progress in our trek back to responsible governance
GODDAMN them to hell.
I am solidly PRO-LIFE - but I just hate to see us expose our unprotected belly to the opposition just at our moment of impending victory.
PISS on ALABAMA and all the low-brow idiots supporting this ABORTION of a bill

well named - you are the equivalent of the 'safe space' idiots on the other side.
grow up

I’m sorry I’m not willing to compromise on the lives of babies. You should stop your moral preening and take a hard look at what your centrist approach has gotten us.
Posted on 5/16/19 at 2:41 am to Sentrius
You’re talking about a statistically insignificant thing, and you’re willing to toss away a bill that prevents lots of abortions because of it.
I don’t care about your moral judgments as to my character, since you’re clearly just looking for any reason to run to the middle ground and try to act like a centrist.

You don’t seem to have any principles, if you’re willing to trade innocent lives for some political points. Grow up.

Roe v. Wade was based on the rape argument– Norma McCorvey, the plaintiff Jane Roe, claimed that she had been gang-raped and needed an abortion. Years later, she admitted that the rape story was false and was made up in order to garner sympathy for the pro-choice cause.

But in the real world your example is very, very rare. I prefer to give the woman the option.
Your example of rape leading to a pregnancy is so very, very rare. Using that as the basis for being pro-abortion is a pitiful argument.

So?
That doesn't invalidate why the rape exception is needed when it actually happens in reality.
If you support forcing victimized women to continue a nightmare for 9 more months, you're a heartless extremist.
Just because McCorvey made shite up doesn't mean she was wrong about her the central premise of her argument.

I can see that you learned a lot from The Kavanaugh hearings.

My position on abortion has been the same for years now.
I support a ban on abortion after ten weeks as that's plenty of time to decide to keep it or not. Exception for mother's health must be available at any stage of the pregnancy.
Rape and incest exceptions must be a part of any bill that restricts abortion like Alabama does.
Posted on 5/16/19 at 3:31 am to Sentrius
Ten weeks? Arbitrary. You really don’t see how repugnant what you’re saying is?

Well, congrats on your purity.
