Walmart has announced it will permanently close all its locations in Portland, Ore. Walmart has long been harshly criticized by the city's left-wing politicians & residents, but this shutdown follows the consequences of the 2020 BLM-Antifa riots that normalized urban criminality.

This is bigger than most people realize these people want you to die and they want you to starve.

Well that's unfortunate timing, everyone on the street was about to get that $1000 to shop for housing supplies.

they'll return to bitching about food deserts in a year and totally not understand the consequences of their actions.

Ghetto laws create ghettos. Who could have guessed this?

There are approximately two dozen Walmart stores in the Portland metro area. They are closing the two within the city limits of Portland proper, due to poor performance.

Ok...now run the demographic numbers of people who shop at Walmarks in Portland.

The two closed stores are in the City of Portland proper, which is less-White and more-minority than the larger metro area. (The numbers I saw were 68% versus 75%). So closing stores inside the core city DOES have a disproportionate effect.

And to what do you attribute this poor performance?

I did not address the REASON that those stores were performing poorly. I DID, however, clarify that Walmart is not abandoning the entire metro area ... which seems to be the implication of some reporting on these closures. (LA did not try to create that impression to the same degree as the OP in the FIRST thread).

Awful strong response to mostly peaceful protests.

Too much of a culture rich area to support such a fine shopping establishment
