I worked for a small tech firm for three months.. it was a geophysical tech firm.. when hired I managed a new department we were going to develop.
I built of the basic concepts of what the software was suppose to do for end user.. I looked around and realized there were only four employees that looked similar to me.. the owner.. the secretary.. a sales rep and me.. I was the interface between the company and customers ( oil companies)… you know what all the other employees had in common.. work visas.. the owner would sponsor them so he locked in low cost wages.. it was not a positive place to work behind the doors.. I left very fast. He sold the company a few years later.. made a ton.. and did not share his wealth with anyone else in company.. they just all lost their jobs.

I think that's an exaggeration, but yeah, it's a coalition movement and coalition movements always have some struggles when they actually gain power.
Corporations want cheap labor, endless fiscal spending and dollar hegemony enforced by military might.
This goes against the natural human instinct to work less, get paid more and to be left alone.
The tug-o-war continues.

Well partly they send out talent for education opportunities, which again isn't dissimilar to the rest of the developing world. The issue is that because of investment limitations related to wanting transactions done in rupees, they don't have a large reserve of foreign direct investment. Secondly, the growth of jobs for the elite is scant compared to the demand, and again, like many developing countries, if you do not have the right connections for the right sort of job, you can be on the outside looking in. Thirdly, they suffer from uneven internal development, some of which is related to how diverse the country is, and some of which is related to how entrenched the landowning class in the country is. In contrast, Chinese liberalization has been much more even, as you see large, well-developed metropolis springing up precisely because the CCP took great pains to take land from the former land holding class. Nothing similar occurred in India, so the process of development is going to be slower and more politically precarious.
Just by virtue of their demographics, they are going to have an excess capacity with regards to an educated populace, who may or may not always be able to affect change within the country. Eventually that excess capacity with respect to population is going to lead to wealth for Indians, but given that it is a very hierarchical society, you have heavy incentives for people who might be disaffect by virtue of class to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Interesting. So effectively the caste system that is embedded culturally in India is sort of counter productive to economic and industrial growth. So much that its sort of a requirement for exceptional talent to leave the country. I find it odd that these same individuals in return, once in place in US society, do the same thing to others (when it comes to hiring, treatment in the workplace, etc..)

If its true that American pop culture is idiocracy personified, why are their millions of people actively trying to come here yearly? Why would these individuals want to be associated with such a society unless they agreed with it?
The top places people come from Mexico, Guatamala and El Salvador are not even able afford pop culture. They don't even know what it is. They are coming here because their country sucks. They are not coming here to do IT jobs and push this country forward.

Your “Trumps going to fail trust me bro” stance is not supported by anything factually.
In fact, given your track record on being completely and totally wrong from the primary process thru the election, you are just wishcasting at this point.

Your resume does nothing to change anything other than an example of what our natives should achieve instead of importing their competition. But doesn't make your opinion any better than any other Americans.
I'll say it again, anyone who is for importing white collar jobs replacements can't be hypocrites about importing unskilled labor during the Biden admin. Trump was rehired to deport people holding our own down, no matter who they are.

I’m personally on the fence on this one. Part of me thinks Vivek and Elon are spinning about culture to justify paying slave labor/wages. On the other, you want to be a hardcore, free market advocate? This is your end result.

How is he wrong? American pop culture is idiocracy personified. We are a fat, stupid and entitled populace, which is why DEI and social justice ideologies are so popular here.
This my first impulse too.
Our dominant 'culture' has turned into a cesspool = unwatchable for anyone with a lick of sense or responsibility.
The cure for this is not easy.
Once way of doing it is a total reset of humanity back to basic survival days - it may take a nuclear war to accomplish that - with only a few super healthy, super intelligent, super incentivized individuals left to re=start the human genome.
I fear we are headed for that - problem is that it may spiral into total oblivion - no reproducible society remaining.
I do not know of another way. There is too much resistance to making people responsible for their own survival and that of their descendants.
America came close to achieving it - and still hanging one by our fingernails.

I think what he meant to say is that minorities from other countries are allowed to be exploited by companies because their ability to stay in the country depends on it. I won't disagree that some Americans are entitled and have a bad work ethic, but America didn't become what it is by "low IQ lazy people".

I find that aspect annoying. I heard a story from one of my colleagues about when he was in medical school, he was rotating at one of these small community hospitals where no one wants to work. He saw an attending who was from India slap the shite out of an intern who was from India over some shite that no one else understood. Maybe there was some caste shite involved but that situation would have led to a massive shitshow at any decent hospital. I don't think anything happened to the attending at that hospital though.

You can say it as many times as you’d like, but if you can’t tell the difference btw issuing visas (net gain to economy) and illegal immigration (net drain to economy), then you need to do a tad bit more research.

Interesting enough we are talking about bringing in more people that will most likely not join the military to defend it. Tech support positions perhaps but not fight.

I've seen this as well at a tech company, dark skinned Kerala Indians, often Christian, get absolutely abused by lighter skin higher caste Indians.
They go out of their way to try to get the dark skinned ones fired but protect their higher caste pack.
