“doctors hardly ever check the levels”

The Dr.I started going to in 2023 is very much a fanboy of Vit D3.He checks it yearly,he wants level of 50-60 ng.
I was forced to get a primary Dr.at age 72 by my Medicare Advantage plan.
I was a R.N. for 35 years, never had a primary care Dr.mainly because I had no faith in the GP,FP,or IM Drs.I had dealt with over the years.
The Dr. I started going to I didn’t know because he didn’t come to the hospital I worked at.His office nurse goes to same church I do,she told
me he had obtained a large stash of ivermectin at beginning of Covid and gave it to pts.free of charge if they came in with Covid. He also swore them
to secrecy to avoid trouble with the medical establishment.
Easy decision to go to him.
He’s in private practice with 2 other Drs,if they were in a practice owned by a hospital he likely couldn’t have gotten away with it.
His nurse told me the other 2 Drs.gave him a hard time at first but 1 started giving ivermectin also, seeing the results he had.
I like him,he’s not real talkative but he did tell me he didn’t like the Covid shots.

It’s criminal what went on with Covid, pushing the shots, not advocating for Vit D and withholding ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.

I also take K2,Magnesium and Zinc.I learned all this on my own research at beginnining of Covid.
Vit D is also beneficial for mental health, mainly helps prevent depression.

Bruh. 6'3" 300lbs puts you at 37.5, just shy of the 4th group:

I started taking vitamin D supplements daily a few months ago. Along with K2, Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin C, Potassium, and a multivitamin.

I sat offshore isolated in a room knowing I had covid but testing negative. I’m in a critical role(apparently) and they weren’t going to let me leave until I actually tested positive and I finally did so they sent me in on a medivac.

The walk across the parking lot damn near cured me. It was hot and sunny and I felt great afterward.

Get out of your chair and go outside. Aren't you from the "Sunshine State"?

If there’s ever been an argument for doing your own research relative to health advice, this is it.

Thank you for your service though.

I’ve been taking a generic multivitamin as I get older and feel like it doesn’t do much so was going to switch to individual supplements.

I take several supplements daily. I could tell when I started the Vitamin D that I stopped catching every sniffle my kids brought home and when I did, it went away faster. I think colostrum boosted my immune system, as well. Multivitamins don’t do shite.

You do realize vitamin D is one of the cheapest supplements you can buy….

You can get a bottle of Sam’s Members Mark D3 2000 IU 400 count for $10…

About two years before the pandemic hit, my Dr checked my vitamin D levels which turned out to be low, which was surprising because I spent a lot of time outside fishing. He put me on supplemental D3, where my levels came back above normal.

I’m a respiratory therapist, so during covid I was in the center of all that shite, I’m sure it helped me with not having any issues with it.

I’ve been taking D3 50mg daily since 2016 while working in Germany every two months. Haven’t had so much as a sniffle since then.

Also, pure blood checking in.

We take the D3 + K drops and our family has been really healthy for some time (the wife is also on top of what we eat so I’m sure that helps too). I also take Black Cumin Seed Oil after researching it and feel like it has been performing as advertised as well.

ETA: I have also read if you live essentially above the Mason/Dixon line, no matter how much you are outside in the fall/winter months you probably aren’t getting enough vitamin D from the sun so

decreases your need for a doctor, specifically D3. this is about D3, not D2

Everyone should be on D3/K2, Zinc, Magnesium, and creatine. All are proven by studies to increase longevity and health.

It’s not just vitamin D. We’ve evolved with sunlight. It is crucial to our wellbeing. Not only does it create vitamin D for us, but the UV radiation also aids in mitochondrial function. We need direct exposure.

From AI Individuals with higher body mass index (BMI) often experience challenges in elevating their vitamin D levels due to several physiological factors:? Sequestration in Adipose Tissue: Vitamin D is fat-soluble, meaning it can be stored in fat tissues. In individuals with higher fat mass, vitamin D may become sequestered in adipose tissue, reducing its availability in the bloodstream. ? SpringerLink Volumetric Dilution: Larger body sizes may lead to a dilution effect, where the same amount of vitamin D is distributed across a greater volume, resulting in lower concentrations in the blood. ? MDPI Altered Metabolism: Obesity can affect the liver and kidneys' ability to convert vitamin D into its active form, potentially due to fatty liver disease or other metabolic disturbances. ? Frontiers Reduced Sun Exposure: Individuals with higher BMI may engage in less outdoor activity, leading to decreased sun exposure and, consequently, reduced natural vitamin D synthesis. ? These factors contribute to the difficulty in raising vitamin D levels among individuals with higher BMI, even with supplementation.?

Your response suggests you’re avoiding the point I was attempting to bring to your attention.

Regardless of BMI, an intake of dietary fat helps the body absorb vitamin D.

If you’re obese and are avoiding the consumption of dietary fat to lose weight, that decision may be counterproductive to the goal of raising your vitamin D levels.
