Unfortunately some people would have to lose their jobs and starve to realize how wrong they are

Holy hyperbole with the posted pics.

Society is a little bit different than 80 years ago.

You’re right. A smart phone and $200 cable bill is now a human right

Because we aren't in a great depression.

If we keep the country shut down, we will be. 80 years of separation has not made poverty any less crippling for those who fall into it.

Understand?

So the virus with a 1% fatality rate that’s being made out to be the Black Plague isn’t from Fearmongers Are Us?

You know what all those people in those black and white pics that you posted are?

Alive.

What would the death rate be if we weren't all staying at home?

Would that death rate, and the media coverage of it, effectively do the same thing (have workers and customers stay home)?

We don't know.

You know what happened to many people in the days of those black and white pictures, as a result of malnutrition, by way of extreme poverty?

Disease, and death. Slow. Painful. Death.

And poverty didn't target the elderly, and people with preexisting conditions. It targeted anyone who wasn't working for the government.

You aren’t comprehending.

Some people are advocating for keeping our country shut down for many months. If we do that we are risking poverty for 300 something million people to protect 1% of people who contract coronavirus. That is beyond idiotic.

We also don't know how many people have it or had it that show little or no symptoms.

It could be if you lose a parent or elderly loved one to it. Depends on the individual.

And those people were a lot more hardy than us. Everyone was a prepper back then.
