The Lt is a Dumbass or a SJW looking for trouble! Probably both!

They were back at their cars for at least 4 minutes. He had plenty of time to do whatever he needed to do to get out of the car.

So you want him to be rummaging around in his car while the officers have their guns pointed in his direction?

I got stopped for speeding in high school. It was freezing outside and I couldn't even keep my hands in my jacket pockets while standing outside my car with the cop.

Yes, unbuckling his seatbelt and unlocking the car could easily happen.

No. See my edit. Cops don't like it when they can't see your hands.

I’m as MAGA as it gets, and these cops were in the wrong!! Search what Phillip Mitch Brailsford did to a poor guy in a hotel and see why he was scared to move!!!

we have no idea if the body cam footage is complete. The second body cam video linked definitely does not start at the beginning.
I believe the first one starts with them pulling into the gas station.

See these are the situations people need to be having conversations with law enforcement about and getting fixed.

Sorry, some LEO's especially county sheriffs are blooming idiots who have zero common sense.

I had an incident in Lee County (AL) that could have resulted in a very bad situation had an OUNCE of common sense been applied.

I’m not saying the officers weren’t over the top but...

quote:

Arthur said Nazario explained at the time that he wasn't trying to elude the officer, but was trying to stop in a well-lit area “for officer safety and out of respect for the officers.”

seems like BS.

Seems like a whole lot of stupid all around.

The cops are in some shut over this, and deservedly so.

Again, just informing. The overwhelming majority of cops are great people that do great work in the community. I'm definitely not anti-police.

No they are not, maybe a small majority are fair, and try to do a god job, but way too many have the same attitude as the two in this story, and the bigger problem is the decent cops protect them.

This happened to a friend of mine. He was in a t-shirt and was freezing his arse off. Nonetheless, hands in your pockets is a major no no.

He was asked to keep his hands visible at the same time. How do you do that and release a seat belt, and open the door. As the driver said, he was terrified if he reached down to release his seat belt he would be shot, the two cops did nothing to diminish this fear.

Okay - fricked up behavior on the cops - and many are wound too tight for the job, but this is some GODAWFUL reporting:

quote:

“fixin’ to ride the lightning,”

No cop says this during a stop and mean:

quote:

a reference to the electric chair which was also a line from the movie “The Green Mile,” a film about a Black man facing execution.

...they mean they're about to tase you.

Period. Full stop.

Police could have handled this better, but if you drive a car in this condition, you can't question getting pulled over. Army guy is a retard.

In the heat of the moment with two cops yelling at me with guns drawn, I doubt this would have occurred to me. In high stress situations your ability to mentally processes and take action greatly diminishes.

Yeah, you can 100% justifiably be pulled over for that. The rest was unnecessary escalation from the very beginning. They pulled guns before they ever even gave him a command.
