Really... Do you have kids...? It's a horrible time to try to parent. You can't stop them from getting to this stuff. Cut off their cell to these sites at home or school, and they go to their friends house or Starbucks.
If the government isn't going to take up the cause of protecting kidsfrom vile and harmful stuff like this then let's just allow adults to have sex with them...what's the differnece if the government has no role?

It's not more of the same, it's a pendulum swing. Yes, I see merit in liberalism, in a vacuum. It's failing, however. And it can't defend itself, which is ever more apparent. You're just supplying the tools to your enemy and leaving yourself without defense.

I don't fault people for their preference for liberalism - it's an attractive idea. But I'm not going to continue to pretend it's serving the interests of me or my family.

ust to know...is unlimited porn like we have today, a negative or positive for a healthy society? No middle ground, and saying to agree or not with this kind of law. Just wondering if it is beneficial or not.

I’m sure it has negative consequences but simply banning porn isn’t going to solve the problem…. The cats out of the bag with technology and we either can adjust and enjoy freedom or have another societal war on problems the government can’t fix

In all honesty, this would all be very simple to just simply regulate it to appear under a specific domain. It would not be that difficult and no porn would be need to be deleted or censored. The domain could then easily be blocked in homes using a router's security features, or on wireless by clicking on a checkbox for each phone using the service (AT&T, Verizon, etc.). Streaming TV lets you check off content ratings allowed, already. This should not be a difficult discussion to have in Congress. If people want it, fine, but just make it simple and easy to block if you don't want kids having access.

“Banning” is the exact same argument anti-2A folks make (e.g., gun confiscation).

It blows my mind that people actually want more government.

Nope, but this is a silly qualification to make.

When Texas splits off it's going to be a pluralistic libertarian paradise?

That'll be fun

That's all fine.

I'd settle for "small government conservative" to be more than a talking point.

You’re not a conservative. You’re a libertinearian.

I’d love for Conservatism to mean something beyond “lower taxes Hurr durr.”

Surrendering in the cultural war brings about a loss in the whole war.

Well if that's your category then get after it, I guess.

In lieu of alternatives I might temporarily support such a thing. But it's not a long term solution to anything when the culture of 350m people and every major institution is going to undermine it at every step.

Neither are you. You're a Kindaservative.

You like conservative ideas when they suit you, but ultimately, you just want your way like a toddler.

I don’t know this from personal experience. But I’m going to guess it’s harder to bust a nut at Starbucks than in your own bedroom.
