You do not discuss information like this outside of spaces that are cleared for classified dissemination. This is something that is very serious. That's why I don't believe this whole Signal leak thing.

DC and the surrounding area is full of SCIFs so it would not be hard. Plus guys like SecDef, NSA, VP, SOS , their whereabouts are always known overall. I doubt if they live more than 20 minutes from the White House or Pentagon.....a lot used to have really nice brownstones in Georgetown.

Unless they are out of town they can get to a secure location pretty damned fast. I remember being in DC the night that Desert Storm kicked off, Jim Baker was having dinner at a restaurant, then all of a sudden he was in a limo with police escort flying towards the White House....probably there in 5 minutes or less.

Ideally you want Cyber Security personnel at the ready in a SCIF so a Sys Admin and a Network guy at the minimum to ensure secure and reliable lines.

It's a good thing there wasn't any classified info discussed then.

You people act like they were posting on Facebook. It's a secured app approved by the government. It was set up by the CIA. You people are attacking the administration because they followed procedure. This really isn't as big of deal as all of you pearlclutchers are pretending.

Thank you, that is a very helpful reply. I'd assume the Cyber types could then handle securing any further communication from there, in this case, SCIF giving commands to military personnel in the Middle East or wherever the weapons are controlled. But it makes sense that the big cheese types are in DC so often that they could meet at a moment's notice.

One thing I keep hearing is that Goldberg was stored under a different contact, if true, I wonder who he was supposed to have added. Or maybe that was just a cover up? I agree with the guy who said Signal should have separate & limited contact lists to eliminate the possibility of this ever happening again.

Here's the thing in DC, DC reporters don't usually hide themselves. The big names have egos to match most politicians. Plus they don't care if they get criticized, etc. There bosses and colleagues love the attention and criticism and exposure.

Walz admitted to adding the reporter, didn't he? I know he tried to claim that he didn't know who the contact he entered into his own phone is, but he didn't deny adding the reporter.

Walz admitted to creating the group list. An IT person with DOD admin. capabilities could have changed the number for one person's name to the reporter's number. The reporter was added four days before the call, almost as if a dry run was made to see if the deception would be found out.

These are serious people and this is a direct attack on the Trump administration. It was not a mistake.
