What was the other option ?
Leave it torn down and in shambles.

It was genius to begin demolition immediately

This.
Imagine thinking you won something by blocking a construction project mid-stream.

Man the Democrats really hate that ballroom.
Criminals, child molesters, men in women’s bathrooms and sports, foreigners, stopping a ballroom…
Democrats fight for the weirdest things.

It’ll be an AOC day one pledge.

This is a MUCH bigger case than people realize. The Supremes ruled that the Historic Trust doesn't have standing to sue. That means that someone has to have suffered a particularized injury to sue.
It's not enough that a President's actions are unlawful. To sue to stop those actions, someone has to show in a concrete way how those actions would harm them specifically.
This is REALLY going to streamline DOJ defense against similar equitable relief. BIG victory for Trump.

They effectively ruled that no one can SUE to stop it.

It will be done. Too late
I meant the original demo that he started while everything else was going on. They had to pick fights and he got it done kinda under the radar
