Nowhere does the article speculate on where they came from.

Now, I have not spent a lot of time in that area of the world, but HTF are missiles flying across the Red Sea toward Israel?

quote:

The USS Carney shot down 15 drones and four cruise missiles on Thursday in the span of 9 hours, a U.S. defense official tells Fox News.

Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said yesterday during a press briefing that several drones and three cruise missiles were shot down. Officials told Fox News that this was true at the time since the briefing took place while the drones and missiles were being shot down.

The cruise missiles and drones were shot down with M-2 surface-to-air missiles with U.S. officials saying the rockets were headed for Israel.

The USS Carney was heading south through the Suez Canal on Wednesday and was in the Northern Red Sea on Thursday when the drones and missiles were shot down, the official said.

For the USs Carney to be in position to shoot done these drones and missiles they have to have intel of where they are originating from, right?

Why wouldn't these people shooting missiles and flying drones just move to a location where the USS Carney is not?

Imagine what our military is truly capable of if it was ever really put to the test with no restraints. The fact that we're droppings drones and cruise missiles with ease makes me wonder what technology we're really holding back.

SM-2 surface-to-air

Has a range of 90 nautical miles. Not too far of a range.

Carney is operating in the northern Red Sea. It's in between Yemen and Israel.

Hope this doesn't evolve to the level of the Gulf of Tonkin incident.

America needs to stay out of this mess.

Agree. Cruise Missiles being launched would be alarming. Might be some embellishment there.

Gee, I wonder why that is?

/S

We have the highly advanced technology to shoot down these drones and missiles but not to determine their origin, obviously.

Sorry, /S again.

The cost of production is what worries me these days with $500 drones, drone swarms and such coming into major play. Our Switchblade drones are $50k for the small one.

Yes, after Iran put them there ... and fired them.
