I’m sorry, I just do not agree with your assessment. There’s an assload of Marines sitting stateside. You’ve got people in active line units that go entire enlistments without deploying at the moment. How do I know that? Because I’m a part of that group.

I was set to enlist in the Army, trying to be SF. My recruiter was a shitbag and was never there. The 0311 SSgt in our recruiting office chatted me up while I was waiting and sold me. Thank god the Army is full of shitbags or I might be a pussy.
