Commandant of the Marines Says Deploying Troops to the Border Poses ‘Unacceptable Risk’
Why have the last few Commandants been such fricking pussies?
Eta: I would understand it if he said, “we’re a maritime force, our job is to be forward deployed. This job is better suited for the Army or Nat’l Guard.”
And I would agree with him in that sense. However, he did not say that. And furthermore, he’s essentially disregarding what his own commander tells him to do.
quote:
The commandant of the Marines has warned the Pentagon that deployments to the southwest border and funding transfers under the president’s emergency declaration, among other unexpected demands, have posed “unacceptable risk to Marine Corps combat readiness and solvency.”
In two internal memos, Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller said the “unplanned/unbudgeted” deployment along the border that President Trump ordered last fall, and shifts of other funds to support border security, had forced him to cancel or reduce planned military training in at least five countries, and delay urgent repairs at bases.

Not sure why we don't just militarize our northern and southern border like most countries do. That would provide plenty of 'training' and other stuff they need. We don't need to be spending money in other countries that hate us ans just use of for money and military protections.

Because that’s less money for the military in these piece of shite officers’ eyes.

Well, it looks like General Neller has a choice. He can obey the orders of his duly elected Commander-in-Chief, or he can submit his resignation. It’s really that simple.

I guess he has never heard of the Trojan Horse.

He isn't wrong. It's not our fricking job.

Not our job to protect our own border?
That's an interesting take

Democrats...when you're in that level of the stratosphere, and retirement is staring them in the face, their political inhibitions go flying out the window.

Your misrepresentation of the Commandant's statements aside, sitting at the border is not our job.

He wants his Marines to be the most effective fighting force they can be. Playing border patrol doesn’t help that goal.
Send the guard to the border

This smells like a very selective edit of a quote possibly taken out of context.
ADDING border deployments to the deployments units already go through to the Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East DOES negatively impact readiness and combat effectiveness. At some point, forces simply get worn down.
However, stating it that way doesn't exactly provide clickbait, does it?

I guess mr. commandant forgot about Trump being responsible for increasing the military budget by billions.

So training for something that may happen takes precedent over something that IS happening. These are the same pricks rubber stamping social engineering to replace centuries of traditions and standards of the military to become more inclusive.
Less and less people are attracted to the military. The officials think it's because the country overall is becoming more pacifist but the reality is that conservative men who in the past gave their lives for patriotism do NOT think it's patriotic to work for guys like this General. The don't fire on them unless they don't fire on me shite that started in Vietnam has softened us. I decided the day I saw the Iragi boat over take two Navy vessels with more firepower without a shot and the CO's crying like a pussy on national television because they were so scared. THAT was Obamas military and unfortunately those pussies are still there and apparently still in charge.
The biggest threat to our country at this time is at the border. The second biggest threat is progressive politics.

Invading Banana Republic's is in your Bio, so let's just say for arguments sake, the populace of a certain group of Banana Republic's is causing a National Emergency at the border.
Pretty sure those battalions floating around on a boat, for 6 months, would rather be "doing their job" at the southern border.
