Been researching it a bit and don't trust it yet but since it is crypto, I'm going to go with a yes.

You can store them offline I'm pretty sure you just have to know what you're doing.

The private keys for Bitcoin can be stored on a USB or external hard drive.

Yes but I do not understand this line of attack. If the entire world loses internet we are fricked and the only asset you may care about is bullets

Yes. It’s a protocol that requires a network of interconnected miners to verify all the transactions before they get confirmed onto the public ledger. To stop BTC transactions, you have to remove the ability of all of these miners to communicate with the internet or all of the holders of BTC from communicating with any of the miners.

Nobody is ever going to be able to take down the entire internet for any real amount of time, nor would our society really survive it. The viability of Bitcoin moves fairly far down the list of priorities in that scenario

Bitcoin mania reminds me of the Dutch tulip bulb mania of many years ago. When the the market mania reached it's peak and demand faded away, the public finally realized that they truly had only nominal value and then the bottom truly fell out. Many families, some of whom had sold or mortgaged their homes and businesses in order to obtain cash to invest in tulip bulbs, ended up cooking and eating their life savings in the form of cooked tulip bulbs and even then they were disagreeable tasting even of properly prepared.
How do you cook Bitcoin bits and bytes to get tasty and nutritious bites for your family?

When it comes down to it they'll eventually seize your land as well, or they'll tax it so high you can't pay for it.

Agenda 21/2030 will have everyone but elites living in city slums or work camps.

The politicos are pissed off because they can't figure out a way to control Bitcoin without cutting off their own noses in the process (stopping the internet). In essence, Bitcoin is living proof that we all put on our pants one leg at a time - and the narcissistic control-freaks are beside themselves. It's the power-obsessed establishment vs. one huge (invisible) army of Bitcoin volunteers, all over the globe. It's nowhere - and it's everywhere.

I buy gold every chance I get.

I even like the feel of gold.

You should buy ammunition instead. If we go Venezuela /Argentina, ammo will be the number one thing that helps you survive. You could have a wheelbarrow full of gold. I only need one bullet to take it all.

Random (maybe stupid) question....what kind of value, actual Silver wise, does grandma's fancy Silver dining set pieces have? Saw a Silver pitcher the other day, and made me think if push comes to shove if it has much value.

How about seeds? And what kinds, and especially ones that take awhile to expire.

You have good reason to be concerned. The probability of a USD meltdown and a “Great Reset” has increased ten fold since the Dims took power.

Not really, it increased that much since November 2008, when the debt was 10.699T. Obama got us to 20 and Trump/Biden have done the rest.

Arbitrage is holding money in a currency not as affected by us debt as the US dollar. Many countries aren’t going down the road we are. Many banks in the US are international banks and allow you to hold your cash in another denomination.
Dirt that is arable is a good store of wealth. It takes 13,000 NEW arable acres per day on earth to feed a growing world.
Precious metal is a store of value that will increase as US printer go brrrrrrrrr. People in every country see gold and silver as a store of exchange and a store of value.
TIPS track inflation and guarante you don’t lose value, though they are subject to the US govt definition of inflation.

If you really care about these options, DuckDuckGo ‘Sovereign Man’ and start reading.

I am at the end of a total rehab and flip that I bought on the cheap. I really don't want to be a landlord but I need to hide some money. My concern is the eviction moratorium extension. Why the hell would anyone pay rent if they can't be evicted?

Consider vacation rental property. The market IS at a high point now, but at least your renter pays in full 60 days before arriving, and is evicted at the end of each week.

Mine has a consistent 4.4% return each year and is no hassle with local property management. Accrual has added another 5%, but you missed that rise.

What I don't understand is that BTC is just an elite club of traders. The institution is not inclusive to all of society so it can never really be considered currency from a technical aspect. It's another example of the bifurcation of the economy. It doesn't store value, it's not a hedge of inflation but the ultimate participant. There's also no legal system built around it. The mining aspect creates limitations to it. I just don't get where they think it's going.
