Is this where I can say Ray Mabus is a cock sucking disaster that needs to be publicly castrated, tarred and feathered, and deported to Iran?

USNI Article with more detail from July
Mabus is terrible but this is all Congress with Mabus stuck as the smiling salesman.

There is a naming convention for US Navy ships. Used to be only dry cargo ships could be named for explorers, pioneers, etc. They can't name a carrier after a gay activist. Wikipedia Link

The article posted helps push the false narrative that Milk was assassinated because he was gay. It wasn't an assassination, and he wasn't killed because he was gay.

Seriously, if he was a gay martyr, would he have been considered?

He shouldn't even be considered that. His sexuality had zero to do with the murders.

He and Dan White were former political allies. White killed Milk and Moscona because he felt that they double-crossed him.

Thats the thing... ther are many honorable ghey people they could have named this thing for. But they chose a real dirt bag that fills almost every negative stereotype about gheys.

I just feel sorry for the sailors who get stuck with an assignment on that ship.

More important, ships should be named after people who basically had Hall of Fame naval careers.

Ray Mabus has been horrible for the Navy. He needs to be dismissed day one.

That is actually a paraphrase from Huckabee to one of the questions he got during the debate. He said that is what the military's role should be versus a social experiment platform. I agree.

Why is this a big deal? You can be gay and now serve. He was a politician. Plenty of ships are named after politicians. Reagan never served in the Navy and he only made training films in Hollywood during the war and gets stuff named after him in the Navy. Reagan also knew a lot of gay guys since he was in Hollywood.

Milk served in the Navy and was an assassinated politician which is good enough for a little boat n the Navy.

You do realize that a lot of gay men and women have served in the armed forces since the Revolutionary War and have served honorably and heroically.

"According to the Naval Institute, Milk came from a Navy family, joined in 1951, served as a diving officer during the Korean War, and later received an honorable discharge as a lieutenant junior grade.

After his stint in the Navy, Milk continued his public service by becoming the first openly gay elected official in California in 1977. He was assassinated a year later by another city official. At the time of his death, he was wearing his Navy diving belt buckle."
