The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis tallied 105.8 million people over 16 who were unemployed and not actively seeking work in June, the New York Post reported Wednesday
But keep your hands over your eyes and your ears plugged.
There are about 275 million people in the US 16 and older. You don't really think we have 38% unemployment, do you?
This stat means nothing. Why do I care that high schoolers who don't want jobs are unemployed? Why do I care if there are retirees?
I support traditional values which means more stay-at-home moms. Why should I care that stay-at-home moms are "unemployed?"

Economy is red hot! Thank you, President Biden! I mean, Trump

Why would anyone care that software engineers are driving for Uber instead of being counted as unemployed?

Functional unemployment is almost 25%

Nice math there Tom lol there are 330 million people in the US. By your calculations, roughly 200 million Americans are of working age, so with 100 million unemployed we have now surpassed the Great Depression. It never ceases to amaze

Are you on meth or just mentally retarded?

Deportations, voluntary or otherwise, help fuel this. Not the only reason, but it is a factor.
Illegals were given SS# and therefore in the official labor pool. Millions sent home and STILL the jobless rate declines, that is quite amazing.

Labor force participation rate. Jobless #s mean zilch

Hey dumb shite, you do realize over 75 million are retired and a 16 year old is in school not working full time, 16-22 year olds in school are another 15 million and 30 million never cared to work.
If a 105 million are not working and capable that would put us at a 70% participation rate, the highest in the history of the US.
What a fcking clown.

Lies, lies and more lies. How disingenuous -- and of course the numbers will be radically revised in a month or two. Anyone who believes a word coming from this administration is just a lost babe in the woods.
What's more, if the numbers prove to be true, that redounds even more unfavourably-- people are dropping out of the workforce like flies-- many are taking retirement.

OMB!
Far from it.
It is genuine question. BLS changed who is counted as unemployed, did they change this also?

US Initial Jobless Claims Fall to Lowest Level Since 1969
The other side of the coin is that unemployment actually increased, inflation has risen to 3.5%, the deficit is nearly $1.5T in the last year and the national debt has increased by almost $3T. There have been nearly 600K bankruptcies filed in one form or another in the last year (25K (~4%) have been businesses). Personal debt rose by almost $600B, and personal savings percentages fell by nearly 50% and $300B cumulatively.
Not all stats are created equal.

Strange days indeed when leftists ask about the labor participation rate.

It’s all bullshite.
I'm just here to watch the people flip flop based on whether their in or out group is in office. Thank you for striking the match to light the fire exposing the hypocrisy.
Labor force participation rate was the go to response to claim the data was fake while Biden was in office. Let's see if the people who said this during the Biden admin are maintaining intellectual consistency (like you displayed)
