Destroy their infrastructure and then be forced to allow US companies to rebuild it, meaning US control of their oil. Genius plan. Evil, but genius.

Nah. Whatever we destroyed isn’t all that difficult to rebuild, with the right hands out there. Plus, that’s been an obvious strategy in war planning and war execution since oil refining became a thing. In fact it probably would’ve been weird had we not included that type of thing in our planning and strategizing. To a reasonable extent, of course.
ETA….Oh, and I can’t say quite how much revenue from such facilities made its way into the economic stream so as to benefit the citizens of Iran anyway. In fact I think it would be a very reasonable and rational assumption that for the most part, it didn’t, i.e. wasn’t “technically” a reliable component of that country’s economy.

The Israelis do this to Iran every time things escalate over there. Their war fighting capacity is directly linked to their oil production.
Again, striking one refinery that accounts for 15% of their production that is mostly used domestically isn't going to move the needle much in the grand scheme of things. It's more like a deterrence/retaliation.
