That’s not restored audio...that’s a voice over by an actor to match
I watched a multi-part WWII documentary recently that added sound to otherwise silent films for the first time throughout the whole series and it was great. They weren't just scenes where one guy was the focus and he was talking or something, they did it with massive battle scenes, troop movement scenes, mechanized corps, and everything.
It was probably the best WWII doc I've seen other than "World War 2 in HD colour" that was kinda the same concept except they colorized black and white film by hand.
ETA - here's the youtube link to World War 2 in HD Colour
I think I saw the first one I mentioned (with the added audio) on Prime Video, am trying to find it currently

I had WWI vets in my family as a kid in the 50s and 60s.
I remember all of their stories like it was yesterday.
Both of my great grandfathers on my mother’s side fought and my paternal grandfather as well although he was a bit nutty because of it, he struggled before passing around ‘58 if I remember correctly.... a younger man than I am now. I cut my thumb carving an apple up with his pocket knife in his backyard, cut it deep, and he wrapped it in cotton and a piece of dirty rag and we went to the fishing pond that way.
He didn’t talk much and he had the shakes and he was permanently shell shocked and would cry at night in his room .... I remember that.
That was a tough war.
Had a bunch of family fight in WWII too, and Korea and Vietnam .... we all serve in my family. One cousin didn’t and now a couple of the younger second cousins will not along with neither will my Son.
War is just a bitch few can understand but most of us realize that the first WW was bad, and so was the second. Really bad.
So was the Civil War though.

That truly is amazing. Now many of our young men would be asking for a stress relief petting zoo in those conditions.
Yeah, and many of them have spent more than a decade sucking up IEDs, sniper fire in pointless conflicts to protect foreign nations without so much as a peep.
