I see the Putin doesn’t want nato on russias doorstep argument all the time. But if anything Russia invading Ukraine caused Russia to have nato on their doorstep with Finland and Sweden joining NATO because of russias invasion. Plus Latvia and Estonia are already nato members that border russia

Putin drew a line in the sand. Ukraine called their bluff and Russia responded. Sucks for Ukraine, but not my problem so I don’t give a frick about anyone over there. Not an American problem.

That’s not what you said you said Russia didn’t want NATO on his doorstep I simply pointed out that by invading Ukraine Russia caused nato to be on his doorstep by causing Finland and Sweden to join and that Estonia and Latvia were already part of nato and on putins doorstep. And honestly I couldn’t care less about either side in this war. Less population in the world means more to go around for everyone else.

Russia doesn’t want Ukraine in NATO and Russia doesn’t want NATO on their border. More than one thing can be true. Try to focus.

So why didn’t Russia invade Finland when they said they wanted to join NATO? Finland on Russia’s border is way more of a threat than Ukraine. Could it be because the NATO thing was just a talking point and there were other reasons for the invasion?
