Change the labor laws. If the people you work with vote union, you're in the bargaining unit if you do the same work. You can't go negotiate your own terms. Allowing you to opt out of paying dues at that point doesn't make sense to me.

Did you know that before the teachers unionized they didn't get weekends or summers off?

^^^^^^ quite possibly the most asinine thing ever written. . Care to post some links showing non Union workers safety vs Union workers safety?

Would you care to take a stab at what standard PPE is omitted from this picture and tell me how this union is making these people "more safe"?

Unions have become another clever pathway for Democrats to chase jobs away and thus keep folks dependent on government

Uhh we did change the law you silly goose, that's what right to work law is about, the worker is not in the bargaining unit, thanks for making my point.

I've literally never seen a more unintelligent post on this site. I hope that you're being satirical, but I fear that you're not.

You literally have no clue what you're talking about

If my aunt had a penis, she'd be my uncle. The stark reality is that in a plant setting, that's simply not true. There is a reason many of the hourly workers are ...hourly workers. They may get raises as time goes on , and from what I hear Nissan is pretty good about giving raises... better than their unionized counterparts around the country.

Look, a union is a business pure and simple. The union only does well so long as they have more and more members paying dues.
I am though a capitalist at heart, I'm all for people trying to get the best deal for themselves and trying to get as much money legally as they can. If they think a union can do that for them, then have at it. If a group thinks that a union can get for them better overall wages and more job security, then have at it.

The point on hourly wages though is well founded and most of the pseudo Milton Friedman's and von Mises/Hayek types ( doubt that most of the posters know much about any of the three and can bet they don't know anything about the last two)

You are hilariously wrong of course. At least 12 posters off the top of my head know and understand the important works of all three. Those posters start and contribute to thousands of thread. Sticky wages is not a complex issue requiring advanced economics study to understand. Given 30 minutes to browse mises.org, 40% or more of the board would get it. Many already do.
