in the state of Texas Lieutenant Governor is about the only one with real power
Gov ,,, kinda with appointments,, heads of State Agencies have a lot of control with scheduled sessions 5 months every 2 years
after that AG
Speaker
Committee Chairs
Honestly, Harris County judge may have more effective power than some on that list

God forbid there be competition to the alcohol and drug(Pharma) industry.
Let’s be honest that’s what this shite boils down to.
Lots of dollars flow to these politicians Republican and Democrat from these companies and they aren’t happy these products are available. These Lobbyists have been working overtime to make any form of THC illegal.
I’m all for monitoring the industry better to make sure these products have the dosages under the agreed upon limit and age required, but don’t bullshite us with how these things are damaging children.
Just gaslighting the ignorant.

Iirc dallas voted to decriminalize less than 4oz, so this probably kicked off the fight.
Frick the stoners. I hate smelling that shite all day, everywhere I go. And I'll smoke from time to time. There's about a block or so on my commute home that reeks of that crap.
I hope TX puts the stoner trash down.
Sounds like Maine and that area has the same issues as OK.

Not sure what all that means. But come to oklahoma, we'll sell you weed. You won't have to meet somebody at 3 am in a 7-11 parking lot. And it's good stuff.

Legalizing weed has brought nothing good for every state that has passed it.
Keep the legal weed in the worthless states that surround Texas.

Exactly. I don't live there, but it's nice to see some state leaders fight this trash.
Im tired of waking into everyday regular places and it reeks of it because some white or ghetto trash had to smoke up on their way there. Tired of just driving along and smelling it thru my vents.
Stoners are like trannies. Use to just keep their crap on the DL, but now everyone has to have it in their face. Frick'em.

The Lt Governor and the Texas Railroad Commissioners own all the toys in Texas politics. Piss them off, and you're fooked

Patrick, as President of the Senate, controls all the money. Patrick has made the House irrelevant, and could make Abbott's life miserable

Jesus… leave weed alone. It’s not bothering anyone. Alcohol is worse.

I guess he gave up on bathrooms. He’s a complete waste.
then didn't move the needle at all on what was pussified legislation that he was sponsoring like exempting stadiums
If y'all can't tell I think Dan Patrick has been the worst politician in the history of the state of Texas because while Republicans had the advantage state spending has grown outside the pace of state growth and inflation
On things like property tax ,,bail reform I debt on pensions he has completely sold out the taxpayers and true conservatism
He takes credit for moving right on social issues but he didn't move it It moved and then he took credit for it
and I mentioned earlier, the state has banned a state income tax three separate times and it was already unconstitutional but he keeps banning it again and taking credit for it

MAGA is trying to show these people the way but they just can’t help themselves. These “republicans” are a joke. Bible thump over dumb shite and do nothing but platitudes with the actual true moral high ground of trans lunacy but then turn around and try to ban weed. It’s like they want the other side to win. Almost as if they want to take turns spending four to six years yelling at each other then switch. There’s no way that could be on purpose right now? They are doing this all for our good right ?
