Network television executives are weighing their options as the National Football League continues to suffer after nearly two months of player protests; considering canceling up to 10 ‘Thursday Night Football’ games to boost up failing ratings.

Thursday games generally suck anyway.

They should.

The fact they are screaming player safety makes TNF bullshite for any team that plays on the Sunday of the same week.

Besides, I watch college on Thursday nights anyway.

You can slice and dice this to death but it's still pretty damn hard to not admit that -AT THE VERY LEAST- the displays of disloyalty pushed the NFL over the edge...

Thursday Night football was a good idea gone bad. The players usually aren't ready to play on a short week. Also the matchups are generally awful.

the thursday NCAA games used to be so good...now it's kind of blah and the NFL game is usually awful (not to mention the atrocity that is "color rush.") Maybe they'll go back to playing meaningful college games on thursday.

“Overall, NFL game viewership this season is down about 7 percent from the same point last season and 18 percent compared with the same point in the 2015 season. More concerning for network executives is the 11 percent across-the-board ratings drop in the 18- to 34-year-old demographic, the biggest drop of any demo,” says SBJ.

Kudos to you young bucks on here.

Always thought TNF was on the same channel every week. But then again, I don't watch the NFL anymore so I wouldn't know

So we are now considering Hannity a reliable source on this forum.

Murder She Wrote reruns would probably get better ratings on Thursday nights.

Not only this, but has anyone else noticed that in this point of college ball, we're not seeing college ball on Tuesday, Wed. and Thur. nights like we have the last couple of seasons. If there was a game on last night on ESPN I must have missed it.

Aren't Thursday games in the NFL network? Seems like it would be the nfl's call on that one.

And the game last Thursday was by far the best game of the week, if not the season.

I think they are referring to the local affiliates.

Why interrupt your regular programming with high ratings for Thursday night football with lower ratings?

Eric Berry is out for the season so that stock Chiefs " empty stadium" photo is misleading.

Some preseason game or blowout from seasons past perhaps ? Nothing to do with some supposed boycott this season.
