Mitch is not currently up for re-election. So he only goes in a couple of ways, but otherwise is a fixture. His minions continually make him their minority/majority leader out of Swampish impulses and sheer corruption. He don’t care a fig about winning the Senate.

How about saying we have spirited primaries and we trust our voters to choose the best candidates who we fully support.
McConnell would rather lose seats then have a Trump supported candidate win.
He's not going to support Oz or Walker because he doesn't want Trump to claim the victory.
He would rather lose and it's not even a close call for him.
All of the above is why you get Trump thrust upon you in the first place.
