My pollyannish view is that we discover what the truth is, THEN we fight over policy based on our values. Now I understand that truth is irrelevant to you...for a good reason.

The Founding Fathers took the complete opposite approach.
Knowing that is was not 1 King who could ”save the country”.
So our government was formed in a way to protect the country in case the leader was not 100% infallible.

When ICE determines they have an illegal alien in custody I do not care what law they use to send them home. Period. No mistreatment. Just deport. There cannot be the standard due process for US citizens applied to the 30 million illegal law breaking people here.
