Are you serious!?? Aren’t they supposed to benefit us in some way? They are causing more inflation already caused by the Covid bros help me make sense of it…..

Exxon is laying off 3-4% of the workforce. O&G is suffering a bit but thankfully improving
So they're suffering, downsizing, and improving all simultaneously?

His personal anecdote aside, I think the bigger concern is it doesn't seem to be having an overall benefit to the economy.

not for my clients who employ my company. pipelines/midstream are booming all over the country. i have had to turn down so many jobs nationwide. we are ramping up on drilling and completions side also.

An industry that literally pumps stuff from out of AMERICAN SOIL is not affected by tariffs, except to the extent that tariffs cause a trade war that cause other nations to tariff our exports (oil)

He's probably referring to upstream. Glad you're doing well but that's not the case for all sectors of the oil and gas industry.

Unless youre an officer or large shareholder in a massive corporation, these tariffs arent going to help you.
Posted on 9/30/25 at 9:54 pm to Fat Bastard
Cool story bro. Unless all of your pipe comes from the US or you have been stock piling inventory- you will be paying 50% tariff. It will affect things.
I sell material for completion tools and I have no idea what you are talking about. It’s slow as hell right now.

The tariffs have lowered my proportionate share of the national debt and haven’t had any negative impact on my personal wealth. So I rate the tariffs as an overall positive personally.

We deeply appreciate this thorough condemnation. Me? I do not claim to have an understanding of what's best. But I'm not a-hole enough to post random, vague shite like yours.

The tariffs are very simply a tax. It astounds me that any conservatives support them.
Posted on 9/30/25 at 10:19 pm to Bamanjo
I prefer consumption based taxes to taxes based on income.

Do you prefer both? Because that's what you're getting
