Honestly, Trump wasn't even a very conservative Republican. He fricked us on guns, for instance. But his outsider antiglobalist status made them compare him to Hitler. Just wait until DeSantis or Cruz is president. These people would be capable of actually wielding the power.
I agree with but I don't see the rise of authoritarianism exclusively coming from the right. Both sides embrace it to some degree with Federal power.Both sides have media machines pumping out hate for the other etc... I orbit the centrist viewpoint on most things and it's terrible to see what is coming bc I'm not sure it matters who is in charge...shite looks grim.
