He asked you to connect the trade war to China's faltering economy. Your response was trade war bad. You definitely didn't adress the question. It's a fair question since you brought it up.

I suggest getting cozy with Canada and Russia, and quickly.
But no, all you can think of is price controls.

You beat China by playing the long game. Invest outside of china, move mfg to Mexico and India.
Bingo! But you have to get there.

There is no real connection.
Their faltering economy is a result of their own idiotic policies int he past.

Can you post your answer I missed it.
You stated china’s economy is faltering and I asked then how does this affect the on going trade war with the US.

Unnecessary. I'm posting about a lot of things, but yes I am thinking of the topic of the fricking thread.

Then we better get cozy with Canada and Russia. We better invest in the NW Arctic development.
Because those two nations are ahead of us too, in that regard.

It doesn. The trade war is based on manufactured outrage.

Trump signed a trade agreement with Canada that included rare earth's in 2020.
I suspect any additional cozying with Russia is on temporary hold at the moment.

No connection between their economy and the trade war. Ok but that seems dense.

Which is the trade agreement he bitched about when re-elected and wanted to do over.

Roger, is our economy faltering?

China does really need US agriculture. Their meteoric rise is due to the green/agricultural revolution of the 20th century. They rely on ghost acres.

So far. Evidently not much. Why do you think Donny's putting out ridiculous 130% tariffs on China?
They've become the number one EV maker without the US market.
They have the ability to quickly re-assess and adapt. We're stuck having a 78 year old man make trade agreements for private industry.

Its run on debt.
Its not working, its being permanently subsidized with massive debt

I too think our greatest weapon against china is encouraging manufacturing outside of china. A Marshall plan huge in scope covering multiple nations so to speak. I’ve certainly seen evidence it’s happening I just don’t know if it’s slow rolling or on as quick of a pace as possible.
I learned years ago that the Houses are cowards. Neither side wants to do a real budget just CRs. Pubs learned that the nation wants stuff no matter the cost and learned being the adult in the room was poisonous to election. It will go like this until it can’t go any further.

this has been happening since Covid.
China has actually priced themselves out of the market for low level mfg in some cases and companies are offshoring to Mexico, Vietnam and India.
Chinese wages rising mean they will be doing less low level mfg.

We never should have opened trade with a communist regime like China in the first place
