If you need to create a fantasy where I and some others on this board wake up every day sulking, and not relieved and pleased that this country rejected all the bullshite we were voting against, then that’s your business. I'm shocked this has reached 18 pages. That's a whole lot to read but I'm assuming a lot of it is panty-wadding crybaby bullshite.
Here's the skinny: Ron Desantis is on the outside looking in. And that's where he should be. He's the governor of Florida and doing a good job. Trump is the President-elect. Ron will have his chance to run against JD in 2028 because the only thing he knows how to do is be a politician, but it isn't going to matter.
He took a shot at the king and missed. There's consequences for that. These are those consequences.

I agree with this but if he doesn't appoint Lara Trump to the Senate his political future is over. That would be the final nail in his coffin. It doesn't make any sense for him to not name her if she wants it because in 2026 she will crush the field if she runs

2028 will probably be Vance no matter what. If things go well he can run on those accomplishments and if things go bad he can take the inevitable loss
