The problem with Trump is that there's a 99% chance that his "idea" was just expressed in its entirety in a few short sentences.

Paul Ryan is gone
John McCain is dead
quote:It's kind of hilarious. You people villify Desantis for being tied to the party--yet you simultaneously blame Trump's failures on his inability to work with the party. It's an amazing discontinuity.
Both families are supporting DeSantis. Tells you all you need to know

bullshite. They will help him because they have to. The Republicans aren't going to risk getting primaried because they don't like Trump. That would be stupid.

Being serious here. How do you propose that we rid ourselves of this "establishment"?
You start with one domino. Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. Then you ask yourself the question, "Is it possible that he is not the only corrupt politician in DC?".
I think you will find that there is a correlation between le gth of service in DC and corruption. Once you establish that corruption is the grease that makes DC go, you create a groundswell for term limits. Term limits can be a bipartisan issue. Also, we should demand a reform of our system of classification, which just provides cover for politicians and their illegal goings ons...
From there, you move to cleaning house on the 3 letter agencies in DC. The corruption isn't limited to elected officials. There is a case to be made that the bureaucracy is not corrupt because our politicians are corrupt, but the other way around ' going back to J Edgar Hoover.

So, the last reason for Trump to not do something is how the press/Left might react.
No. That's not the reason he couldn't do it. If you are the new CEO of a Fortune 100 company, you can replace certain key people with your own people, but you can't just come in and fire everyone. Fauci had a lot of support and was very powerful. No way that was going to end well for Trump.
If Trump had fired Fauci and replaced the top brass at the CDC, he would have been impeached and convicted 95-5.

After several failed “repeal and replace” efforts in Congress and a number of losing battles in court, Republicans have largely given up on the issue, focusing instead of issues such as the economy and crime.
Thanks to bought and paid for RINO’s like John McCain and the endless illegitimate Russian Collusion investigation.
I galls me that these “journalists” always act it’s simply no one’s fault that it couldn’t get done, or that there were no better alternatives or even corrections to be made, it was just that the Republicans simply failed to get it done.
A more accurate news account would read, “The Democratic/Big Media/Big Pharma crime organization successfully lied, cheated and blackmailed their way to blocking efforts by Republicans to make moderate and almost unnoticeable changes to the bloated and convoluted system we call “health care/health insurance coverage” in the U.S.

Trump’s running on his 2015 platform.
It’s like he was never there.

I don't think this report is current. Pretty sure I heard the same thing in 2016.

Trump is a world class promiser- not so much on the delivering.
It must be "next week" on Trump's calender. How many times has Trump promised that he would have his new, improved, super- duper health plan ready "next week"?

For anyone who works for a living, just going back to what we had before Obamacare would be much better and cheaper.
NY is expensive, but before Obamacare my wife and I had a plan that was about $500 a month each for wall to wall coverage, low deductible and a huge network. That would be a platinum plan under Obamacare costing more than double. Now the $500 a month plan is like the old "major medical only" with a "free" yearly exam thrown in and a $7,000 deductible.
Obama only cared about the free loaders.

Yes. You need to read the words I actually posted. I didn't say fire Fauci. I'm well aware of the limitations in dealing with entrenched bureaucrats. I said remove him from the White House Coronavirus Task Force. Trump absolutely could have done this, and he wouldn't have been impeached over it. Yes, he would have gotten shitty press, but then again did he get anything but shitty press ever?

For the record, Trump did this. The CDC was run by Trump's people.
