As if the DC Circuit will do anything about this. That court is swamp personified. And even if they did, it goes back to the same jury pool, where a Republican would be as guilty as black man in 1950's Mississippi as soon as he walked in that courtroom.
Correct.
The outcome of the appeals process is going to be the same. Everyone knows this and is just hemming and hawing about it.
These people saying let the process play out are fools and really don't care all that much about fighting the two tiered system of justice.
What's happening to Roger Stone is an injustice and needs to be corrected with a pardon. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Yes, and so is Roger Stone.

And drug dealers are scum. Doesn't mean they should spend 30 years in prison for passive involvement in a drug conspiracy or RICO enterprise. Federal judges are authoritarians with robes. U.S. Attorneys are sociopaths with power, who see years in prison as a stepping stone to a better job. I don't care how bad of a person Roger Stone is. He's been railroaded this entire process by an evil system.

The House is already getting ready to investigate his commutation of Rod and his pardon of Debartolo. The idea that he'll ever have political cover is nonsense. The pardon power is absolute. He commuted the sentence of a Democrat. And yet they still say it's corrupt because OMB. Pardon Stone now.

there really is no middle ground for you is there?
Not on this case.
I'm grounded in reality where I know the appeals process will have the same outcome for Roger Stone with the same jury pool and the same judge.
It's a waste of time and yet so many Trump supporters are afraid of acknowledging that because it's not politically expedient.
It's not hard to admit that. Even conservative legal experts like Andrew McCarthy acknowledge this.

Stone lied to congress and to muller He deserves some jail
After what we've witnessed the past 4 years with numerous Swamp Skunks committing crimes that have gone unpunished how could anyone believe justice was served to Roger Stone? I'm not sure how anyone who's committed petty white collar, traffic infractions, basically any crimes that aren't felonies couldn't point to the D.C. Swamp and say, "if those rat bastards aren't serving time I shouldn't either!"

This.
The Trump supporters in this thread saying let the appeals process play out are morons that are stuck into a position of cowardice to the media and bureaucrats.
Pardon Roger Stone and tell Amy Jackson and the Mueller witch hunt crew to go frick themselves.

Draining the swamp is draining the swamp. You don't get to keep your swamp creatures and only get rid of theirs.

My primary concern is about ending mass incarceration, whether it's a Republican political operative, a Democratic political operative or a poor drug dealer in the ghetto. The entire federal court system and sentencing guidelines are so one-sided and draconian that it boggles the mind. The system itself needs to be destroyed and rebuilt by people that have some level of compassion and empathy.

It’s clear Stone committed the acts for which he is on trial and this entire mess is a product of his own rash stupidity in talking when he should have just clammed up. The witness tampering is just too much and Trump shouldn’t waste the political capital on him.

Pres says he won't be intervening in the Roger Stone case with his powers of clemency. "I want the process to play out," he says
Let the appeal play out. If Stone can get the case tossed on his own, it would be far better than a preemptory pardon or clemency (which would entail admission/establishment of guilt).

Disagree 100%. Stone will get pardoned if the justice system fails. This case is yet another great opportunity to shine a light on how non-Dems are treated in our courts. How judges act and how much the liberals flat lie.
If Trump just pardons then he is the story. Let this play out, see if the woman is exposed, see if the judge is exposed, etc... more and more moderates and Dems are moving toward Trump and it isn’t because of his tweets. There is a lot of shite in this country getting exposed right now and the Stone case is another brick that is about to tumble.

That is not going to happen.
Most certainly not in the DC circuit with that jury pool and Amy Jackson's courtroom and Bill Barr still went ahead with Stone's case.
That's wishful thinking.
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong but I'm confident that I'm not.

A big part of the problem is all the tough on crime laws that have been passed over the last 30 years that have grown law enforcement, but have not put the same resources into the justice system. You can't quadruple the number of arrests and expect that the same number of public defenders will be able to handle the increase.

The idea that Trump needs political cover with people like the media that hate his guts to issue a pardon is one of the dumbest and most ridiculous things ever posted on this board.
Issue the pardon and let them moan and whine about it.

There seems to be an absence in this thread of you discussing whether Stone actually committed the crimes he was convicted of.
