Unbelievable. Democrats have truly lost it

A Democrat said he expected the House to investigate this week's wave of presidential commutations and pardons, including the commutation of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s prison sentence.
quote:
“I mean, we will, of course, I expect, have hearings on this,” Rep. David Cicilline, a Rhode Island Democrat, told CNN. “There’s a process that the president is expected to follow in granting pardons or granting clemency. We’ll try to bring attention to this issue on behalf of the American people. We will continue to do oversight.”
quote:
Several Democrats expressed frustration with the move, including 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, who complained of a “broken and racist” criminal justice system.
“Today, Trump granted clemency to tax cheats, Wall Street crooks, billionaires, and corrupt government officials,” Sanders tweeted. “Meanwhile thousands of poor and working-class kids sit in jail for nonviolent drug convictions. This is what a broken and racist criminal justice system looks like.”

Show me where this process exists in the constitution.

The President's pardon power is absolute.
If they "subpoena" anyone from the WH to a hearing in the House, they need to bring a blow-up of Article II, with the pardon clause highlighted and in response to every answer, just point.

How many of jugears pardons were for poor POC kids?
How many for non POC folk?

I'm starting to think that Democrats just have a hard time understanding and accepting the office of the Executive.

Another day, another day of wasting my time and money.

they will say Blago promised an endorsement of Trump and a donation to Trump's campaign for the pardon--

No they have a hard time understanding that he is their president too and will continue to be for another 5 years. Expect the same moronic behavior from these fools.

Once again proof of Fake News. The media should be ripping Democrats for wanting hearings over 34 commutations vs 1927.
Just ridiculous. And not like they can spin their Quid Pro Quo for any of these unlike Bill Clinton's 400k to let Mark Rich go.

Nancy and Chuck are beyond pathetic. They have not learned that this will backfire and make OMB stronger

No, no, you don't get it.
The pardon power of 44 prior Presidents was absolute. This President is an outsider, therefore there's a different set of rules for him.

They have found another way to launder money through hearings. Dems can never let a money making opportunity slip by.

Show me the law or constitutional amendment mandating that process.

What do they do when they're not having hearings? It seems like all they do is sit in these circle jerk hearings and piss away American tax dollars.

It really is time to purge both houses of congress... spare no one just to make an example for those that will follow...
