You sure about that? Section 1992 of the US revised statutes (passed by the same congress that adopted the 14th Amendment) state: “all persons born in the us and not subject to any foreign power...are declared citizens of the United States”.
A very strong argument can be made that “Subject to the jurisdiction” has to do with having sole allegiance to the us and not a foreign country.
Again...constitutional arguments are rarely cut and dried..and your layman’s declaration that “the words could not be more clear” is based upon your ignorance of several differing debates and interpretations that have been going on for years regarding those same exact words.

Amending the constitution through presidential executive order is dangerous whether or not you agree with the order. Yall are truly a bunch of short sighted morons if yall think that this is a good idea. There wont be a Republican president forever. Trump didnt start this trend but he is damn sure continuing the precedence. God save the king.

No one is suggesting that POTUS can change an amendment with Executive Order. But he can implement a policy through Executive Order, that will be challenged in the courts and hopefully clarified... Absolutely two different things...

The US Constitution is not that long and paints very broad strokes. While the fundamentals cannot be broken, they can be defined. We physically have millions of pages of laws defining the Constitution.
A perfect example is how the Courts have decided when a life is a life.

""All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."
So just to clarify...it's your position that the child of an illegal who is born and resides in the United States is not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. They are under no obligation to follow US laws, since they are not under US jurisdiction.
And you're saying someone else doesn't understand the Constitution.
