It’s not like anyone actually really knew 100% at the time

Nobody did

It was about far more than MRNA vaccinations. It was a complete logistical operation to provide medical PPA and other equipment to hospitals and then to the public.

Warp Speed WAS a great accomplishment. It provided vaccines fairly quickly that were very effective at reducing the worst outcomes of covid for at risk people. The errors came with forcing people to take it.

The best thing about warp speed wasn't the end product that resulted but the fact that it demonstrated that government red tape could be set aside in order to address an emergency situation.

It truly was an amazing accomplishment. Everyone should be applauding the hard work that Trump did during COVID.

wut? He didn’t open shite until red state Gov told him to pound sand and we’re opening up.

In his defense, the whole world didn’t exactly have a guidebook on how to deal with it as it was a rather fluid situation.

I love Trump, but ain’t blind; they scammed him on Covid, and the psy-ops they ran on America hurt us all.

That's^^^^ all I'm saying.

Trump needs to drop his back slapping for Project Warp Speed and let it go.....As a cult member I shouldn't be criticizing my prez.

Trump responded at the time to Covid induced pressures and in light speed produced a 'vaccine'. That the left glammed on to and issued mandates should be the focus.

I took that shot, because I'm pushing 80, but mostly because in NY you had to have the shot to go to a restaurant.

don't sell the GEOTUS-potion short - It reduced mortality more than 10x in the older, sicker people most vulnerable to covid. There are a lot of those folks so the number of lives saved piled up.

But here’s a real story for you: my pepere was in a nursing home and they wouldn’t let us go inside to see him because he had ‘COVID’ so they said. We watched his death rattle through an open window on the ground floor. He was a. Korea veteran and his worst fear was dying alone. So yea I am def bitter about it

I'm grateful for Trump's Project Warp Speed. Because I know what it was really for...

I can't blame you for that. That was a miserable aspect of the pandemic. My biggest critique is that though we taxpayers funded much of the science behind those vaccines decades before, the manufacturers were allowed to keep their exclusive patents which let them control supply and prices, and block other manufacturers from making cheaper versions (even during a global emergency). Government protected corporate profits and it may have slowed global vaccination compared to vaccine that had more limited intellectual property protection. There was too much rent-seeking.

It became a matter of need- now!
And of course the players were willing to fold right in

Was the initial vaccine largely effective to those most at risk? Probably yes

The issue is there are too many businessmen involved in these sorts of things. I know because my dad was a big science sales guy

Yeah, that's right, but they didn't need to hand over everything to pharma. They could have backstopped them for any potential losses, guaranteed them a handsome profit and took the patents. The free PR alone was worth mega-bucks to Pfizer and Moderna.
