The psychology of the Trump crew jumping at the chance to embarrass themselves along with him is baffling to me.
Do you guys really think he has handled this well, or hell, even competently?
Is it that hard to say Trump has made a mistake?

I would say flawless. How many times in the history of man has a country lost its entire navy, airforce, and supreme leader within the first 72 hours of conflict?

Yet we still haven't achieved any political objectives
It takes a special type of stupid to see this campaign as a success

Exactly. The whole point of going to war is to achieve political objectives. I at has been called “Foreign policy through violent means.”
We beat the absolute shite out of the North Vietnamese military and still lost the war.

It takes a special type of stupid to see this campaign as a failure. Be patient and you just might get what you want.

What objectives have been achieved?

I wouldn’t call it a failure…yet.
We haven’t accomplished any significant goals. Their navy and Air Force was never a threat to begin with. Their missile and drone force have been the main problem for a long time along with their support of proxies across the region. And now they’ve proven they are willing to shut down the strait whenever they feel like.
IF, and that’s a big if, we can take control of the strait from them and end their support of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis I’ll call it a win. A resounding win in fact. The only better outcome would be regime change to a government willing to play nice with the world but that may impossible at this point.

No. I would say that the situation now is worse than it was prior to the invasion though. That seems pretty clear.

Eh, they’ve certainly been degraded militarily and economically. Which hurts their ability to support their proxies. But the strait of Hormuz issue needs is worse now and needs to be taken care of.

Once these oil tankers exit the SOH, Iran loses leverage. That's the USA strategy.

I fail to see how that benefits us
They still have the ability to attack our interests and bases in the gulf with their missile program
This conflict isn't cheap. It's cost Americans billions in higher fuel prices. We've taken damage to bases in the region. I've yet to see anyone articulate how any of this helps American citizens. Iran wasn't a threat to the United States. If their proxies want to attack Israel that's Israel's problem. They aren't a NATO member and we don't have any obligation to provide them with any help at all.

You should read my other posts in this thread and others. I’ve acknowledged our failures in this war.
Iran has absolutely been a threat to America and its citizens. They killed hundreds if not thousands of Americans in Iraq. They’ve been THE destabilizing force in the region for decades and terrorized nearly all of our allies in the region, not just Israel.
This could be the righteous war we’ve fought since WWII if we just had the will to win it.

At least Trump didn't have John Kerry deliver them a plane load of $400 M in cash.

Whatever happened to old Lurch? Did he fall out while windsurfing?

And we haven't? We had to stop and refill the ships with rockets/missiles. How many trillion dollars have we already wasted?
What have the citizens of the USA benefitted?
How much has our national debt risen since the start of the war?
Trump says, I am a master at stopping wars. Master of economics. Hmmm?
