Former President Trump is vetting possible candidates to remove Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) from his leadership position, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Sources familiar with the situation told the Journal that Trump has been speaking with senators and allies to gauge if there is any interest in deposing McConnell, though lawmakers and aides told the publication there has so far been little enthusiasm for the prospect.

Despite being one of Trump's most powerful allies in the federal government when he was in office, a rift quickly formed between McConnell and the former president after he left office.

“Rift”, yeah; wonder why. Turtle is okay as a tactical parliamentarian rules guy, but when the gloves come off- as they must- in order to counter the ruthless Dems, he’ll fold every time. Will never challenge the “Big Lie” bs. His time is over.

Trump has zero power in the senate. Their isn't a single MAGA America first person. This is dumb as hell and has zero chance.

If trump wants success his movement will take decades to truly erode the beltway not something that will happen over night.

Trump is a loser that got his arse kicked by Joe Biden. If he had any self awareness at all, he would still be president. He needs to crawl in a hole and stfu. Mitch still has work to do because he was re-elected.

Bull Shite, that snake has stabbed Trump in the back at every turn. Hell, he really never tried to hide it. Not a more ardent deep stater exists anywhere.

Look at all the spineless pussies responding in this thread.

Clueless punks like yourselves are the very reason America is on the verge of falling, you have no fight in your DNA, NONE whatsoever.

Just shut the frick up and sit on your hands so the patriotic Americans can handle this.

Pathetic pussies you are, geez

And that's an understatement. The Senate is an arena where Mitch is the absolute master and Trump is a gadfly there.

Even the Trump friendly candidates and ones he endorsed are avoiding the prospects of going after Mitch like the literal plague.

This is his boy Tommy Tuberville who Trump touted as his right hand man...

quote:

“Naw, I’m not going to get in that fight,” said Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R., Ala.), one of Mr. Trump’s top allies in the Senate. Mr. McConnell, he added, “is doing a good job.”

John Kennedy of Louisiana....

quote:

Sen. John Kennedy equated the former president’s odds of ousting Mr. McConnell to that of a donkey learning to fly.

“I just don’t realistically see that happening,” said Mr. Kennedy, a Republican facing re-election next year in Louisiana and one of Mr. Trump’s confidants in the Senate.

Even huge Trump fanboy Josh Mandel running for Senate in Ohio isn't touching this with a 10 foot pole.

quote:

In an interview, Mr. Mandel said he believed the former president received more votes than Mr. Biden in the 2020 election but wouldn’t say whether Senate Republicans should remove Mr. McConnell.

“I don’t understand your question—is there someone running against him?” Mr. Mandel said. “I’m not going to entertain hypothetical situations that don’t even exist in reality.”

The only reason trump was even able to get elected is because of how shitty the GOP is. Glad to see he's just more cancer on the party. Hope they all eat each other alive.

There is no satisfying Trump. There was nothing MCConnell or Pence could have done to reverse the electoral votes the states sent to Congress.

McConnell picked and got through Congress 250 federal judges. He put a major tax cut on Trumps desk with absolutely no help from Trump. His wife was in Trump’s cabinet. He stopped the impeachment of Trump twice.

Trump is about Trump and his loyalty to anybody depends on that person’s reactions to his latest crazy tweet.

Trump needs to tell them all they have till January to replace Mitch with someone of his choice. If not then he will find a primary Opponent for everyone of them . There is rhinos like Rubio that would be in big trouble if Trump put an opponent up against him.

Has trump gotten anybody elected? Nobody is scared of Trump. He has endorsed a lot of candidates that lost.

McConnell raises a lot of money for Senate candidates.

You really overestimate the power/desire Trump has to do any of this.

Florida is a red state but it's not that red and Trump knows that.

He's not going to endorse someone that could lose to a democrat in the general just to beat Rubio in the primary.

And Trump hates losing.

GOP voters need to get more involved in the primary elections.

Haha, because you’ve done such a masterful job of that so far. You think you’re still “holding the line,” but the line got turned sideways and shoved up your arse a long time ago. Keep buying those pillows, though.

I have a suggestion for a challenger that over time will go undefeated in ridding the DC Swamp of undesirables…..CONGRESSIONAL TERM LIMITS!!!!!

Turtle has served his purpose, but now it’s time to move on. I’m sure the Democrats think Nancy needs to go as well, but it looks like both old bats are going to cling to their power with their dying grip.
