Honda has been making cars in the US since 1979 and Toyota since 1988. Those years are well before either one of their “golden era” of quality.

Stricter EPA standards forces companies to re-invent the wheel so to speak Toyota re-design of their engines have been a complete failure. Just look at the recalls. All to appease some MPG standard

The same Mustang GT I bought in 2020 for 46k costs 60k now and that was before tarrifs.

What else happened in 2020 that could have led to increased car prices??

American made cars are not generally known for reliability.

Tell that to my 1994 Z71 with 394, 000 miles on the original motor. The problem is the majority of people change vehicles like they change cell phones. If something comes out with one small miniscule feature they have to have it. Worry more about getting from point a to point b and not having a car note and full coverage insurance

But, anyone with a functioning brain knows that American manufacturers will raise their own prices because of decreased competition from foreign competitors.

Bet they don't.

What did we ever do before the globalists free traders?

I don't see what your question has to do with my statement. How can we have high labor costs AND still sell those products cheaply? Plus, if we have a strong dollar relative to the world's other currencies, then our products can't be competitive globally.

Again, what did we ever do before globalists and their myth of free trade?

You know there is a whole history before globalism right?

We used to be the worlds innovator, which your protectionism fights.

If you had ever taken a basic econ class you wouldnt have to ask such ridiculous questions.

Used horses for transportation and communicated with written letters carried by hand. Maybe we should go back to that too? Think of all the jobs that would create! We can bring back the typewriter industry!! Just like we used to have. MAGA!

That because Trump doesn’t use tariffs to raise money for the government. But you’ll go right ahead repeating that lie.

Thats exactly what he's trying to do.

quote:

“For far too long, we have relied on taxing our Great People using the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Through soft and pathetically weak Trade agreements, the American Economy has delivered growth and prosperity to the world, while taxing ourselves. It is time for that to change. I am today announcing that I will create the EXTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE to collect our Tariffs, Duties, and all Revenue that come from Foreign sources. We will begin charging those that make money off of us with Trade, and they will start paying, FINALLY, their fair share. January 20, 2025, will be the birth date of the External Revenue Service. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

I'm genuinely interested how they come to the conclusion. But, when they get to this point, they start talking about the person. Who'd you vote for? You're a ron bot! etc.

I'd love to hear any of them explain why they'd expect the nation with the strongest currency on the planet to have no trade deficit. It's a simple quesiton they avoid like nuclear waste.
