Can you expound on "shite pile." I'm not challenging the characterization. I've not read the bill. But from what I understand, this CR is one helluva lot better than the "bipartisan" pile Johnson was trying to pass this morning.

If it was that good, we wouldn't need to raise the debt ceiling now.

No official numbers have come out but I imagine the spending will be about the same as the longer bill, just less specified (hence the shorter form)

ou cant totally abandon Classical economics, and he has done that.

This macroeconomy is just a continuation of Obama-Trump-Biden...and now Trump again.

His rhetoric is worthless, he's going to do whatever is necessary to push growth at all cost.

If you want to understand his motives, go back to 2019 when he begged the fed for help just to keep growth high.

I understand what you are saying and I 100% agree this is a continuation of the prior.

I do have hope that this is just something to keep everything running as smooth as possible until he is in.

But I dont know shite.

In other news the MSM posted a stort about "Trump looking upset with Elon" about spending bill.

So if I have it right, Trump wants the debt ceiling raised right now so when he gets in, he doesn’t have to be the one to say “hey let’s raise this thing.”

And he wants it raised because he wants to see his plans through, but won’t be able to borrow enough money to do them bc the borrowed money is already tied up in projects from insane bills from the recent(ish) past.

So he’s like, “the previous folks got their way and they’re taking up all the funding and I can’t get my shite done so let’s raise the debt ceiling now so I don’t look like the problem when we’re adding more and more debt?”

He wants it raised so that he can spend bigly again without having to fight his party (like Chip Roy) while actually President. Now he can have 2 years (which means prior to the midterms in 2026 take effect) to spend like a drunken sailor without having to have more threads like this one.

Well shite.

What are an incoming President’s options in these cases? Is there ever a time where the new President responsibly keeps the debt ceiling as is or even lowers it, but then has to sit by not being able to do anything until the old funding/repayment of debt is complete?

How about we keep the debt ceiling as is and squash some stupid shite from previous bills?

What would you or Roger like to see happen here? I’m thinking don’t raise shite, see the shite on the books through, and then do new shite when we have room to borrow?

Do you think that Trump and Elon dont know that people think this?

You dont think they have sat down and discussed how things are going to run? Also, do you think Trump learned anything by the end of his first term on how things actually work in DC?

I said it is coming before the media said a word.

Do you really think Trump's ego will allow Musk to remain in the spotlight? Musk got 90% of the press over this CR battle. Dems are asking if Musk is president.

"No way bro. Trump won't have any problem with Musk getting the spotlight bro."

Supposedly Trump didn't know what his boy Johnson was putting in his omnibus even though they've been hanging out at UFC fights...

No chance this was by design? He’s the richest man in the world and heading a team to cut spending and Trump isn’t in office yet and can let some of these other guys do the leg work for a bit. And it worked.

I don’t think Trump is upset with Elon getting flowers, no. At least not yet or on this particular topic.

Why would you type this? I cannot type this with more of a deadpan expression……who gives a frick? Are you saying we should be concerned with Dems and what they’re saying about Elon’s and Trump’s relationship?

Bottom line. We are borrowing a trillion every hundred days. Debt that .gov is paying interest on is rolling over from 1% to 4.5%. Interest on debt going over a trillion a year. Can trump and chip roy figure this all out?

Ok ok, you and Roger don’t have the craziest thought here.

But, I don’t think y’all will be correct. I don’t think they split due to Trump not being able to share his Presidency.

I certainly don’t think it’s worth debating right now, though. Should be entertaining to follow and see which of us is right.
