He got duped by the dems. It was a dumb move, but amnesty was part of a larger deal and the dems reneged. calling Reagan a democrat while he was President is ridiculous.

This is correct.

Amnesty was part of a larger deal which included spending cuts. Reagan felt the spending cuts would cement his legacy. Amnesty happened. Spending cuts didn't.

Trump has done the impossible again: He’s about to make a bunch of so called “Republicans” hate and attack Reagan.

As I indicated above, there are more similarities between Reagan and Trump than many of the supposed GOP “true believers” here care to admit.

Ronald Reagan — despite his reputation as a war monger — was very circumspect about committing troops to combat. When he did — most notably in Grenada and the Libyan air raid — the operation had very specific and very limited objectives.

The one notable exception was Reagan’s commitment of a Marine garrison to a nebulous peace-keeping role in Lebanon. Yet even here, Reagan had the good sense to realize his mistake and pull the Marines out of harms way after the Marine barracks in Beirut was targeted by a truck-bomb.

Trump’s notable exception was the missile attack in Syria after the alleged WMD attack in Douma by Assad. Yet Trump had the good sense to not listen to the war-hawks in his administration and commit ground troops after it became increasingly evident that the intel on this alleged chemical attack was based on sketchy evidence.

In short, whatever the failures of their respective Presidencies, Reagan and Trump were not neocons. So they both have that going for them.

If Desantis doesn't get in the mud with Trump and shows some poise with collected thoughts during debates, I believe he will come out ahead. Run like Trump without the childish baggage would be hard for anyone not to get on board with

From Axios. Could you not find something from Daily Kos?

HHTM is not a Republican.

He is however a Democrat that has to be medicated because of Trump's words.

I'd take that as a compliment!! Anyone who was around during those years should know this. Trump has lost his mind. He and Biden both are too old to run for president anyway!

You are the Kasich supporter. Are you?

Now, I certainly wouldn’t say you are a retard but you are a freaking hypocrite and have no business calling out any Trump supporter for not being a “true” conservative — however you define that.

Team Establishment weird, nervous leak to Axios

quote:

What we're watching: Team DeSantis believes it's smart to not respond directly to Trump's attacks. But waiting to respond could be risky — and undermine DeSantis' efforts to cast himself as a tough, principled alternative to the former president.
Whoever the DeSantis establishment flunkies are that leaked to Axios-- DESPISE What Ron ran on to become Governor-- AMERICA FIRST POPULISM. Ron nor his Campaign team they sent him were ever America First MAGA.

So instead of labeling Ron what he is, a Bush MavPAC establishment guy They borrow the Reagan Republican vernacular so HHTM can make a fake twisted headline.
