My reasoning for changing my mind is that I don't trust this admin to ban tik tok without slipping in something that would target conservatives

I don't disagree with you actually. If the CCP or any other bad actor wants to data scrape info on US citizens they can find a way to do it. Unless we move to some closed ecosystem like China, it's inevitable. I do think we shouldn't just make it a layup for China to do it and a message should be sent. US companies like Facebook and Google can be constrained va legislative action and if TikTok wants to operate in the US they should be subject to same oversight. I agree with Trump that Facebook should be confronted with the competition. Zuckerberg is an evil little shite who dropped a couple of hundred million on Democrats last election cycle like it was pocket change so Facebook and Zuck is the lesser of two evils in Trumps mind.
