There is clearly evidence of vandalism. You just choose to ignore it for your preferred narrative.

I think what Trump needs to admit to is the reflecting pool refurb was not of the best quality material or a viable long term solution.....period.

Exactly! Trump is a pathological liar that nobody can believe anything he says. Trump is such a cuck.

You fricking morons, all you have to do is breach with a sharp object, get under, and start paying. It seperates.

Could you be more ignorant

some random anonymous sauce claiming he saw a guy ripping and tugging at the coating in the middle of the day at a popular tourist destination, yet somehow there’s no video or - Trump’s words - proof - is not actual evidence
Trump needs to just let this go. But he wont

The funny thing is anyone with any experience with polyurea/polyurathane coatings knows you are the ignorant one, and by pontificating about it makes you the moron.

If this type of coating has proper surface prep, is applied correctly, coating windows are observed, and allowed to properly cure it cannot be pulled up in sheets. This is why everyone with any experience with these types of coatings knew it was failed application the second they saw the floating sheets.

A decent analogy a lot of people may have had experience with is latex wall paint, particularly when it is used on trim. Lots of pre-primed trim is extremely smooth. This is particularly true on boards sold for stair risers et al. If you simply paint them with latex paint and they later get a ding in them, the paint can pull up in small sheets. This is because the primer was improperly prepped. For the latex paint to properly adhere the primer has to be roughed up with sandpaper of the proper grit to give a surface the paint can bond with. If the paint is properly applied you can not pull it up in sheets the bond is greater than the tensile strength of the paint film.

Every bit of vandalism I have seen video of was damage to already damaged coating. One could argue it is reasonable to give them an administrative ticket for this; you do want to discourage this type of behavior. However, charging them with DC code section 22-303 was a gross overcharging.

The reality is Trump took ownership of this project and took ownership of the contractor. Most people, when they hire a contractor, if the contractor fricks up they blame the contractor, but when someone takes ownership prior to completion and they have the inability to accept their mistakes, you end up with a mess like this. Don't own something you aren't willing to accept blame for if the project goes sideways. It is a tempest in a teapot that Trump turned into a multi-week news cycle because of his inability to simply say "mea culpa" given he would melt if he did that he could have just allowed it to die, chasing ghosts just blew up in his face and the devoted are simply willing to go down with the ship.

Maybe they were overcharged in an attempt to deter others.

Vandalism is in of of itself a malicious act isn't it.

It is not the liner in your green slime coated above ground pool. It is a coating that is supposed to be bonded to the substrate. You should never be able to cut it with a knife. If properly applied, it could only be removed by grit blasting. The surface was not prepared properly and the coating separated. End of story.

It was a frick up job rushed to completion by your master.

LOL. Started company in 99 using polyurea. We're you even born. Used it in every exploratory application you can imagine. Bollinger, Chouest, etc ballast tanks, etc Helipads, roofing, cement protection in food facilities, secondary containment, bedliners, etc etc
Tons of offshore product applications
Was lead on training applications being field tested for original manufacturing out of Texas.

Personally, I'm not sure what they used, if it were polyurea, then I have insight. One of my demonstrations to engineer was stacking a few bucks or cinder blocks (very pourous) with 50 mil +, and letting them attack the stack with a sledge less than a minute later. The bricks would come apart before any delaminating
It doesn't dry, its a chemical reaction. Heat(applications @ 165°),tip orifice sizes(control the blend), and of course, the absolute prep done on the receiving surfaces is key. Straight pure polyurea directly onto clean cement won't "peel". But it can absolutely blister if a contaminated surface is sprayed over. The high heat application cures before releasing and the trapped contamination can heat up and expand with no escape. By design, that keeps from having pinhole, which dont close and offer a breach in the product

Color was an issue starting to be addressed big time. Aliphatic stuff was being used so colors wouldn't fade from long term UV exposure. But it was a work in progress. Faded to a brown shade over time.

Yada Yada. Not sure what they used, how they prepared surface, etc etc...or IF it was even polyurea.

So much evidence that the case was dropped…it’s easy to tweet bullshite when you don’t have to prove it in court.
