If you had bothered to watch the video, you’d know that it showed 1,000 white crosses along the road marking the deaths of the farmers. Our President also pointed this out several times during his comments.

I can introduce you to some of them working in Mississippi. They can show you pictures and give you firsthand accounts of the torture they went through.

Maybe you're right. I thought he said thousands. I couldn't see the video. Everything I can find says that in recent years the farm murders have averaged about 50 per year.

Yup, I only watched the news conference from a feed that didn't show the video. Thanks, I have bothered to watch it now. The "1,000 white crosses" makes sense if the crosses are for all those murdered over the last 31 years, since Apartheid ended in 1994.
I would have thought that number would have been more than 1,000. But, as pointed out to me frequently, the President is privy to better statistics than I am. Whatever the number, I can't imagine all the tragedy and pain. I don't know what I would do if someone murdered my family.
I was surprised to learn from President Trump that these were the actual BURIAL sites and not just commemorative crosses.
President Trump’s remarks as reported by Fox:
"Now this is very bad. These are burial sites right here. Burial sites -- over a thousand -- of White farmers. And those cars are lined up to pay love on a Sunday morning. Each one of those white things you see is a cross. And there is approximately a thousand of them," Trump said. "They're all White farmers. The family of White farmers. And those cars aren't, driving, they are stopped there to pay respects to their family member who was killed. And it's a terrible sight. I've never seen anything like it. On both sides of the road, you have crosses. Those people are all killed."
