You gotta understand part of why his legal fees are so high is he has lawyers quit every month and new ones need to bill him to catch up on the case. He’s a very difficult client to have. He doesn’t listen to good advice, regularly incriminates himself, & sets you up to lose.
I'm sure that potential lawyers are also aware of Trump's tendencies to be a skinflint and badmouth former employees so they are asking for crazy money up front.

Just know that this is going to continue for as long as Trump is in the race and there will be no money left for a general campaign or to help out other GOP candidates.
The Dems already have a huge cash advantage and nominating trump will only exacerbate this advantage.
