So, in your mind, "quick justice" = less due process?

i mean...that's the implication. hell even if you decreased the docket load a great deal, litigation takes time b/c process is required

when that something often takes a lot of time? yes

Tsarnaev was tried for the Boston bombing in a federal court here in the US, and it was only two years from bang to the death sentence. That's pretty damn quick. Yet Trump himself suggested he might send this asswipe to Guantanamo, where not one of these frickers has even had a trial yet.
He just says shite that sounds good to his base. It doesn’t have to actually make any sense.

I understand what you mean, however lawyers "working" the system to bog the process down..is not due process imo.

Brooks no interference.
Note your first responder offers "shut up" in lieu of looking at the issues raised.

No. We don't. At all.

Judges have fair to much power with checks. Lowrisk Nonviolent offenders sit in prison for years. Innocent people plead out because it's easier. Our entire legal culture is broken. Attorneys are perverting the system every chance they get and no one is putting them in check.

There's 1. So what?

There seems to be a lot of confusion. The general statement of "the justice system is a joke", does not focus on just terrorist acts. The joke is when repeat criminals are let out with a tap on the wrist for repeated crimes. The thug with a rap sheet a foot long is let out and repeats a crime only to be caught...and let out again. Making some teenagers downloading music a federal crime when slime like Hillary walks free because "She didn't intend to do anything wrong". Say the wrong word during an altercation and it's a "hate crime"..roving mobs of blacks targeting "polar bears"..is just simple assault, etc, etc. That type of "justice" is a joke imo.

One of your rights is a "right to an attorney."

Yeah...but context is important. If the perp keeps talking that's on him/her. Period.
That said, I don't know anything about this case. Did the perp give up incriminating information that led to a conviction, or is this a case of a lawyer pushing an abstraction to derail due process on a technicality?

The president is calling it a "joke" in a very specific way towards terrorism. Even implies that it leads to more attacks.

Decent points, but those are problems that can be fixed. They don't make the system a joke. The music industry laws are a great example of how Congress could fix specific areas.

It's a really vague statement. What is he talking about? State judicial systems or the dog-and-pony shows of Congressional investigations?

So what??? Here's the "so what". And I'm assuming you're a bright enough guy to figure this out. Trump's comments were made in the context of this latest asswipe:

"“We need quick justice, and we need strong justice — much quicker and much stronger than we have right now. Because what we have right now is a joke, and it’s a laughingstock,” he said. “And no wonder so much of this stuff takes place.”

That sentiment seemed to spark Trump’s interest in sending Saipov, a U.S. resident since 2010, to the Guantanamo Bay detention center, which houses alleged enemy combatants seized overseas. President Obama sought to close the facility but Trump has long advocated its use."

The federal court in Manhattan where this guy will be tried has a pretty good track record. The poster above was right...Trump talking about sending him to Guantanamo was nothing more than a comment designed to appeal to his base.

Unless, of course, Trump really is fricking stupid enough to believe that sending him to Guantanamo really will bring him to justice faster. Hell, the POS behind the Cole bombing hasn't even had a trial yet, and that was pre-9/11.

Your other comments may be true, but they have absolutely zero to do with what Trump was talking about re: this POS and what to do with terrorists.

So we can convict Trump without due process? OK.

With criminal justice, it is good to keep in mind that whatever rules you advocate may be turned against you.

As it relates to Washington DC and the elites, I agree 100%.
