Yeah, it's hard for people to imagine that US corporations can invest millions and maybe billions of dollars in a country having signed all legal documents that set forth the terms. And then a dictator takes over the country and kicks these companies out with no compensation.

Our oil is not nationalized. It is the opposite. Venezuela just tore up and tossed the agreements. This happened back in 1974.

I meant as in China’s oil is nationalized. Basically saying we aren’t claiming chinas oil is ours like we are Venezuela.
The oil companies are just fine, they’ve definitely made their investment back and then some.
Besides, there’s a ton of countries who’ve treated American companies just as badly (read: China). Don’t see us again trying to start a war with them.

Damn man, come on! We didn't invest a dime in China's oil industry. And their ability to pump crude is piss poor. They import.
Take another country with a dictator, Angola. There are international oil companies operating off that country.
