How has Canada been screwing us? They have goods and resources we want and need and they sell it to us at a fair market price without currency manipulation. Both sides benefit.

The US is not subsidizing Canada. Trump was saying that the trade deficit amounts to the US subsidizing them. Of course that’s not true. But as folks have pointed out on here, Trump is setting up for negotiations on tariffs.
Until the 1970s the US ran trade surpluses with the rest of the world. Was the rest of the world subsidizing the US? Of course not. Today the US runs a trade surplus with The Netherlands; are they subsidizing the US?
