How so? I've rented and I've owned. Owning is an "investment" and pays dividends later on and the smartest thing one can do, but payment/taxes/maintenance are more short term (costs are more and therefore less affordable) than renting.
We rented because we could not afford to own and could not afford a child. Now we can actually afford to own and it made the prospect of having a kid much more feasible: space for a proper nursery, a yard to play in, and not sharing walls/ceilings/floors with neighbors who’d make noise and disturb a baby.

I'd prefer lots of things. But I do what I have to do. Seems to me that you put your wants of having the home you "wanted" over having a family. Self-centered.
I wasn’t going to bring a child into this world if I couldn’t provide them proper shelter that I’d see fit for my own child. We have different perspectives of what makes someone self-centered.

Do you think the voters with homes want the prices to decline? Do you think someone who just bought a home wants to immediately see their investment go down the toilet. The only people who want lower home prices are people who don't have one. I don't have one and I know the only way prices every decline is some form of disaster. Prices for almost anything NEVER decline without massive deflation and the only thing that causes massive deflation is a major long term disaster.

Nothing. It has everything to do with your education level

Where did I ever say anything about men getting pregnant?

Are you under the impression I’m a Democrat?

Which is exactly what I said. You wanted the "home" your friends would be impressed by more than you wanted a family. I'm just calling a spade a spade.

A rental would have provided that. You wanted to impress your friends. My step daughters are the same way.

Nick Reiner was born and grew up in a 10,000 sqf mansion. Look how he turned out. This notion that you have to have a nice house in order to have children is absurd.

Where did I say anything about impressing friends? What the frick is your problem?

My wife and I didn’t want to have kids when we rented. We got pregnant two years after buying a house. I’m not sure why this is impossible to wrap your head around.

I haven't bought shite because I don't own a condo.. I am not OT rich like people in the OT but my point is that I think Trump is trying to find a way to stop the bleeding for those circumstances and that's what he was trying to say/explain.

Agreed. Parenting is the important part.

The fact that you didn't say it, is not evidence that it is not true. You don't like what I'm saying, fine.

I understand it. You didn't want to rent with a baby, because that was not "good enough"...

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this.

You had to wait to buy that? Find a different career or a different location.

The prospect of having a kid was not even on our minds because we simply could not afford it. If we couldn’t afford a house we couldn’t afford a kid.

And no it wouldn’t be “good enough” for the kid. I truly feel sorry for kids raised in an apartment.

rates are cheaper than when i bought my first house.

Spending habits of the youth is part of the problem. If you really want to buy a house, you will find a way to do it.
